Its the reason I never go to castle combe, it's a bumpy and dangerous car breaker. Snetterton and Silverstone all day for me.

Do the suspension elements easily get damaged if you spin off track or can it take a beating?

As long as its a spin over smooth grass or tarmac there is no issue. If you hit something "raised" then your in danger of damage to the tyres or suspension or worse still a flip / roll.

I was praying for no drainage ditches @ Combe as i was spinning across the infield. If i'd have caught a ditch or something sideways i could have flipped the car and the roll protection in the Atom without the additional hoop is not perfect.

Gravel traps will lead to cosmetic damage and can lead to localised damage. They can also flip the cars which again in an open Atom is a frightening prospect as gravel will be very dangerous to the exposed driver / passenger.
Atom 4, Clio v6, & some other cars obviously.

That's the problem with Castle Combe... going to the right as Peter did and it's just grass. If you're unlucky and go left there's usually next to nothing before you hit the barrier, :OT: like this poor chap in his courtesy car: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XT6XGQrZc90
Yeah, there aren't many places at Coombe you could have span at that speed and not hit something. Great track to drive but not very forgiving if you get it wrong!

Had another go at Clastres in the North of France. Here's me doing 2 laps on an empty track at the end of the day. We also had an Atom 4 joining us, will post a vid with that car later.

What type of camera mount do you use, and where do you mount it? I really like that viewpoint! I normally stick my camera on the roll hoop but your angle makes it feel like you are more "in" the car when watching :tu:

Looks the same location as I use. Its stuck to the "bench seat" high up between the 2 seats.

"Stuck" with what though? Not sure if I'll be able to do the same as I have the individual seats. I'd prefer my camera to be more "in" the car than it currently is :vroom:

Front camera: 3M sticky mount on the top middle part of the seats. Seems to stick quite well.

Rear camera: clamp on the frame under the exhaust

Have to say the stabilisation on the GoPro8 is amazing.

As Paul has said the cam mount is stuck on with a 3M VHB sicky pad. They come with Go Pro mounts.

Never has any issues over years of use in the Atom. Just make sure the seat is clean and de-greased before application. I've had the vibration of my old Atom 2 kill a GoPro after a few years, but never had any issues with the sticky pads. Rock solid.

Compilation of the entire trackday. Mostly passing some other cars.

Chasing an Atom 4 at the 1:50 mark and at the 10:00 mark. That thing is fast. Fastest lap of the Atom 4 was 1:17.061 versus my 1:20.160.

Lovely stuff Paul. :tu:

That 4 might have an extra 100BHP and a far greater spread of torque so it should be a bit quicker.

I'm looking forward to getting the 4 on track next year! :vroom:
