Jay put up a video last month in which he shows the early stages of swapping the Ecotec engine for a Hartley-built V8 (as used in the original Atom V8) and a sequential Sadev gearbox - see from 3.51: https://youtu.be/sxek6uWvQL4
I mentioned this to Steve Rooke at the factory a couple of weeks ago when my car was in for sevice. I was in their waiting room and noticed their V8 wasn't there (apparently it's on loan to the British Motor Heritage Museum in Gaydon). Steve said the factory was well aware of it as Jay had been liaising with the UK factory.
The V8 never went to the US, so this will the only US Atom V8 in existence.
Looks like an interesting project and hopefully he'll do some more in depth videos of it.
