Brakes Pads for Atom 4 AP track bias brakes

Post by Rich » Sun Feb 26, 2023 9:10 am

Hi A4 is going for service shortly for brakes to be sorted and heating issue and other things. What pads are people running on the AP track bias brakes? Factory mentioned Ferodo pads front and rear £160 each a set.

I've been using the Ferodo's but find that they lack a bit of feel on track compared to the Mintex 1144's that I had on my 3.5.
I've just bought Pagid RS14's all round which seems to be the pad of choice at the moment.
The calipers on this car won't take the Mintex's as they are 16mm vs the maximum 14.5mm available.
Corten Miller are however selling them, having machined them down. (and the Pagids)
I don't know how much the Mintex's are but the Pagids were £220 a set.
Cheers,
Stu

I’ve got Pagids and they are much better than the Mintex that came with the single piece discs.
GR Yaris CP for when it rains, Atom 4 for when it doesn’t.

I am using my AA4 on trackdays only with Ferodo DS Uno, it's a very good setup and not too hard on the rotor

Feel is also a lot better than stock mintex (which are crap) !

If you are afraid of locking the rear wheel you can go for something less agressive on the rear like DS2500

Pagid RS14s seemed to be greatly favoured over either 2500s or Mintex 1144 or 11455, but will be more expensive.

I spoke to Ben at Corten Miller and he recommended the pagid pads Rs14s so just had them fitted but not tried them yet. Reviews on the chat seem positive from others testing

All I've ever heard re DS Uno is good. An alternative to running a less aggressive rear pad might be a proportioning valve.
