Final spec. Finally!

Long time lurker. First post.

Finally had the mail through and finalised the spec for my car.

To say I'm excited is an understatement. It's been some wait. Deposit in Jan '20.

I've been quoted 16-26 weeks for the build. Let's hope it's closer to 16 or I'll be getting it in mid-winter.

Welcome, what spec did you order than?

LSD. Aeroscreen. Carbon bodywork. Stainless fixings. Traction control (because you also get launch!). Quick release steering wheel (because I want to be asked why I'm carrying it). 

I know I want brakes, Ohlins etc. However, a chuck of my money is tied up in crypto and it's gone to sh1t recently! It's what I can afford...

Great news Ben, very exciting. I put my deposit down in Feb 20, I was hoping to be asked to finalise my spec next month, which looks about right based on your timing

Yeah, I was late Jan '20, so it does sound very close for you. Be prepared for the '22 price list to have increased the base price a bit. It now comes by default with LSD, aeroscreen and stainless fixings but it has also risen by a couple of K. Other options still look to be the same price.

What's not their fault is that the IVA test price also seems to have doubled.

Thanks for the warning Ben. I spoke to Ariel a few months ago so I am aware of the new pricing being imposed. I see they have added the uprated gear linkage bushes as an option also. Have Ariel given any indication on where between 16 and 26 weeks yours is likely to be?

Nope. I suspect it will depend on the complexity of the build. Mine won't have a lot, so hopefully closer to the 16. Unless carbon = long wait. Grr.
