Reverie seat cushion kits

Post by GraemeW » Fri Aug 13, 2021 1:23 pm

Anyone installed these in their Atom? The Narrow CM kit apparently fits

https://www.reverie.ltd.uk/seatcushionkits.php

Any good?

Look similar to JK Composites. Ive had no luck getting hold of JK Composites, but Reverie respond straight away.

TIA

Agreed, they look really similar to the JK Composites ones. The carbon vinyl look just the job imo.

They are a bit more expensive than JK but that's no use if you can't get hold of them.

Good spot.

Cheers,
Stu

I've got them in my 4, work very well and comfortable. They are expensive but are FIA approved apparently. Just need to check that the double sided tape is secure on the head cushions as I've had one handed back to me by a Marshal at Cadwell that blew off from the drivers seat.

I was always going to make my own Seat Pads.
Friends of mine have a Motorbike Racing Team that has competed in BSB for about 20 years, and some time ago I was there when they were fitting Seat Pads to one of their Motorbikes.
They told me that they sourced the fairly High Density Foam from a local supplier, then just cut them to shape and stuck them in place.
I went along to the supplier in my Atom, and I explained my idea about fitting Seat Pads to the Standard Atom One-piece Seats, so I was shown how & what they produced.
I quite liked the Smooth Skin which formed on the top of a batch of Foam as it cooled, and before it was cut to the required thickness for the different applications they sold it for.
Any way, they were so impressed with the Atom that they offered me a sheet of Foam if I'd take two of their Staff for a spin in it, which of course I agreed to.
I was then given a 1m x 2m Sheet of black Sticky-Backed 15mm thick Foam, but just haven't gotten around to doing anything with it yet.
Maybe I'll have a go, now that this topic has reminded me about it.

Italianpaul, They do look good in your car. I think actually better than JK composites. It looks like yours are the Reverie FIA spacer fabric? Is it waterproof?

I suppose the advantage of that is you can make it bespoke for Atom seats. Send pics if you do it.

I think mine were custom made and are very comfortable. Picture to help anyone that would like to copy them.

They are fitted with nut and bolts so will not blow off in the wind.

Not totally waterproof, but not a sponge. They are Reverie FIA Spacer Fabric. Far better than the JK ones I've seen. Expensive but plenty of colours to choose from including coloured stitching available to special order.

Thanks Paul. Yogiatom I think you bought the car with those didn’t you? If only we could find out who made those, because the best I’ve seen

Picture of car when it was for sale at Ariel factory back in about 2016. May be they know who made seat covers.

Here's three photos I have on my computer showing "Seat Pads".

One was on a former member's Atom, "Wisp" from c2010, which is most probably what gave me the idea to maybe make some for my Atom, the second photo is from about three years ago, and the third photo shows the small round pads that Bruce Fielding had on the seats of his Atom as far back as 2006, just to prevent the Helmet banging I think as there were no pads lower down.
