Do you mean the original 'analog' rotary dials?

Me too, I'm not keen on the '4' dash that shows the rpm as a digital number.

Does anyone proof read / check their site updates?
  • LSD is listed as standard and optional?
  • Stock tyres are NOT Avon ZZR. Stock is ZZS and ZZR are optional.
  • One of the specs is "Add another item"
  • Options page shows a picture of the old dash not applicable to a 4
  • And whoever wrote the options list loves caps!
:roflp:

Haha I spotted that too.

Has anyone tried using the AIM software to edit the Atom 4 dash or is it locked down? I’ve seen various other layouts in other applications which are clearer.

Yes tried for hours to get around this including talking to AIM. Ariel I think outsourced the current dash at a big cost, as it's a PDM there is a fair amount of calculations going on from sensors connecting to the CAN bus. As such the actual unit is locked and you need an unlock key to update the firmware, or even the dash config. It's a real shame because the power of AIM is having the ability to customise their dash's to however you want and Ariel has created 2 different dashes - a race one and road one. The only thing you can update using RaceStudio 3 are the tracks, you cannot even download the config without hacking it. I may take another look at some point but don't want to break it for obvious reasons.

That is a shame - plenty of space for a bigger rev counter and to have speed as a numerical display.

Could you not ask Ariel to do it? They changed the 3.5 dash on mine to add oil temp and oil pressure display, after I wired them in, as well as multiple screens to display different configurations. Worth a chat with Rookie.

Agree, there are far better stock dash's for the mxsl which is what this is. The speed is numerical. The problem are those little donuts, like a donut chart, they belong on a Excel sheet not a dash. A regular linear rev counter would be far better.

This is what I wanted, and this is based on a stock dash for the MXsl:

I asked, they won't do it. So the only way is to hack it. Tbh you can easily screw it up if you are not careful, but we should be given the choice. We are locked out of some awesome technology. If you could edit it you could create different dash's for different days of the week if you wanted.

Which ironically is the layout of the Atom 3 / Nomad dash.

YES YES YES. This!

Please someone work this out!

Having the circular bits on the stock screen just wastes space and the figures are not large at all for the speedo or the rpm. 2 digits with a decimal place just looks rubbish for the rev counter. It all just looks wrong to me. That stock dash layout is a million times better!

I think amending the dash layout is worth a thread of its own. Its something well worth some detailed discussion. I'd happily pay for a better layout tbh. Ideally with a much larger power graph type rev counter centrally showing rpm and how close you are to the red line. With a digital speedo and all the other stuff neatly arranged around the edges.
