I wish I never found this....
That just looks like a page of parts for the Civic despite the heading.
Thats because it is😄
They removed the 385hp tune for 1600 (excl cat replacement) when they learned the ecu is locked by ariel😂

It is, I found it quite handy to consider upgrading other parts all in one plave for the k20c1 engine.

Interesting that their sports cat is 1400 quid. The 350 kit doesn’t look *quite* so bad in that context. I would rather get the 350 without it though and just deal with the MOT in 3 years time though :-)
GR Yaris CP for when it rains, Atom 4 for when it doesn’t.

That is what I thought as well. The decat is £450. Add that to the cost of a sports cat which is a total of £1850. And this is without a remap, so the 350bhp map doesn't look that bad value actually.

Notice also the Quaife LSD is a lot more than Ariel charges, I don't know whether the one on my car is Quaife or not but it was less than £774 fitted as well.

I intrigued by the Quaife sequential gearkit: https://www.dream-automotive.com/collec ... kit-qke10j £9999 including the pneumatic paddles and you get 2 choices of gear ratios, long or short with the same of course final drive. I think I will prefer the shorter version.

I am waiting for Ariel to come back with a price for the seq box. But I suspect it will be more than this price - but hope not. I will need to do something about the flywheel and probably replace the clutch at the same time as this will improve things also.

It is inportant though to now the price installed on the car. I asked what the extra cost would be if I wasn’t adding the sequential in the build, guestimate was 2 k’ish.
I think it would be a bad saving not to buy through the factory. The price difference just seems not present or minor.

A lot of people stumbled over each other to say the 350 upgrade is way to expensive, now it turns out it is pretty good value...

We could even pass a sports cat around, if this makes sense to club members. I have one in my tool box and don't plan on fitting it for another 3 years.

Good point it is an engine out job, gearbox is then sent to Quaife to fit their parts. Ariel also have a nice installation to accommodate a removable steering wheel in that the pins are inside the steering column, there is no plug to plug in yourself that some cars have to hook up the paddles. They also fit shift buttons either side of the dash. That said, if the price comes back as silly, then I will look at alternatives. Some things at Ariel are really great value, other things have a very large mark up like the titanium bolt kit, Willans Harnesses, lap counting etc. You'd be mad to spec those, either that or you have more money than sense.

'You'd be mad to spec those, either that or you have more money than sense"

Wow, that would seem to insult an awful lot of people on here? And stated as fact not opinion!

I've lots of options on my car that I'm sure I could have fitted more cheaply myself if I could be arsed, so i guess that makes me a numpty.

Me too, speccing everything I want on my car, not going to fiddle around myself in order to save money

Not at all Alan. I fall into that category too, had I known more at the time I could of saved a lot more cash.
