what is the normal engine temp on the road?
Today on the road went to 102 degrees
Temp signal red. Outdoor temp 35 degrees
Tought this is a bit high for normal road use.

That does seem quite high. Make sure your fan is coming in, on my car it comes in at 93 degrees, I would also check the hoses under the front of the car. My temps (on the road) are 96 degrees when I am giving the car a good thrashing for a while (of course all within the speed limits). Normal road driving on a hot day - last week it was 32 degrees here ambient and we were around 91-92 degrees engine temps. When stopped in traffic it tends to go to 95 or 96 degrees but only when it's really hot outside i.e. 32 degrees.

Agree with Simon. Seems a bit high. First check is if the fan is cutting in.

I've also not seen over 100 on my car.
