Looking to repeat...

Post by Germanwire13 » Fri Apr 03, 2020 9:32 pm

Hi, hoping to return to ownership after years of family wagons...Had a 3 300 previously and looking to repeat, spotted one for sale with Targa Florio and wondered if its owner is on here or if anyone knows its history? Thanks R :)

Not sure the description is entirely correct as the dampers look like 10 way Bilsteins to me?

I would also ask about exactly how much tracking it has done (given that it's got a permanent rollbar fitted) because if much of it's +7000 miles has been on track this is much more stressful than if it has mostly been used on the road!

It's not a 'real' 3.5, it's a 3 with the light /dash conversion. The front mudguards don't have the indicators, the bonnet is the old type, and you'd have to check with the factory if the ecu and steering upgrades had been done in it.

I don’t believe it has a handbrake either, which depending on your planned use, might make it harder to get an MOT for.

That has been for sale for or a while, which would suggest it has a story. I'd contact the factory to see if they can help.

If you are on the Club's facebook page, a few comments about the car were posted back in January too.

I’d have a few questions:

1. Why is it advertised as a 3.5 when it doesn’t seem to be one?
2. How many owners has it had?
3. Who did the servicing?
4. Why does the interior look like it’s had more than 7000 miles use? It looks a bit rough inside.

There is definitely a story behind it, and not necessarily a horror story, but a potential buyer needs some clear answers.
