Paddle shift-equipped Atom 3

Post by Fastlane » Thu Feb 06, 2020 4:32 pm

Anyone know anything about this company or the car featured in the videos? Looks interesting - although they are very brave/stupid driving like that on the road and then posting it on YouTube. I wonder which will happen first, the videos being pulled, or the driver...

Very interesting. It appears to be seamless!
I have emailed them to try and find out more info

Looks really interesting, I wonder how much this setup costs.

It's quite shocking how fast this guy is driving on the road! lol

The gearbox is still the expensive part here. You can buy the whole setup from Quaife so not sure how this is any different, cheaper maybe?

It looks like it's electro-mechanical - An electronic solenoid that pushes/pulls a mechanical actuator rod.

Am I alone in disliking that 'bounce' you hear on every up shift/downshift with a sequential gearbox not to mention the sound like a nackered transit diff with no oil ? :-\

I love the sound too, the wine of the gearbox, the klunk of gear changes. These cars aren't mean't to be quiet, smooth I have other cars for that. I am all in on setup like this.

You can get a full setup for the K20C1 engine pneumatically activated (not using this tech of course as I don't know the price of this) for £10k. Might be cheaper if looking around.

Hi all i own the car .It has a Quaife box with pro shift all electric shifter i collected it to day and it changes gear very nicely having drove a 3.5 R with a Sadev the electrics are quite clever as you don't have to change the ecu its a stand alone system with auto blip down shift The people at Pro shift are very competent with the system as they designed it the price was right for me as i did not have to buy a new eco and all what goes with it as with the cost i don't want to disclose at this point as the wife might reed this :the car will go an a track day shortly and i will let you know how it performs when i have wraged it.

Ps i think the car went to Mexico for the test drive and it was not me driving.

Levo.

£10k is a lot cheaper than the SADEV box......

Not sure if it would de-value the Atom though

I think the SADEV box will certainly add value to a 3.5R (good investment)

I had a response from Roy:

Hi Tony,

Thank you for your enquiry, the Atom 3 we recently carried out the install to is fitted with a Quaife Sequential Gearbox so the owner had our latest PS3.8 Paddleshift System with DBS (Downshift Blipping System) for his car which has DBW (Drive By Wire) throttles as I presume you will have too?
All Pro-Shift Systems are fully Stand-Alone so no engine or ECU modifications are required.
If you can let me know what gearbox you are using then I will be able to tell you about the appropriate products we can provide?
Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,

Roy
