Easiest way from dover to crewkerne

Post by Tompy » Tue Nov 12, 2019 8:49 am

Hi all
Soon i will pick up my new toy at the factory
Anybody has an idea of the best way to get from dover to crewkerne without getting stuck in traffic.
On the way back we need to be sure to not miss the ferry also.
Any tips are welcome!

Aeroplane?

Think that's about the only way you'll avoid traffic.

That's one option😀 checked already the dimensions of the atom. He's to big for handluggage on the way back. Have to pay more with ryanair. 😅
My gps say around the ring of london
Are there any better roads?

Not really.
The most direct route is M20 from Dover/Folkestone...M26 towards Heathrow....M25...Junction 12 take M3.... 15 miles past Fleet Services turn onto A303 and follow this all the way to the Crewkerne turning.

Even with traffic, this is still probably the best route to take. Waze is a great App if you don't have it installed yet on your phone.

Cheers,
Stu

The 'Blue' line shows the route recommended by Stu (Wasp)

I have attached a MyRoute gpx file - PLEASE NOTE THAT I HAVE CHANGED THE SUFFIX TO .PDF this is to 'fool' the forum into allowing the file to be uploaded - you will need to simply download the file and change the attached file
Dover Ferry Port to Ariel Motors.pdf

suffix from .pdf to .gpx and then you should be able to upload it to your GPS

Tompy,

Whilst this is the most direct route on the way there, are you driving the atom back or is it on the back of a loader?

Reason I ask is that it’s not the best route back for the new engine?
