AO52s

Post by AlanP » Tue Oct 29, 2019 11:51 am

For anybody who misses the old AO48s (I do) according to Steve Cook their replacement, the AO52, is now available in the correct size/profile for the Atom 3/3.5 etc.

Good news indeed.

And Steve reckons they're blinding!

Never really gelled with them, wish the Khumos were more available, ZZR’s are ok though. The 52’s will be on the list next.

love the AO52s but thaught they had better wet/damp performance ..... went to silverstone last sunday and it was like driving on ice until after lunch ... Im guessing track temp killed them .

I've been looking at tyre pressures on these recently. Mine started at 17f 20r cold and I thought them a tiny bit jittery. Steve says the factory run them at 16f 19r. I've lowered mine to 16f 18r, I tried that today and I think it was an improvement.

I put AO52 on my 3.5 in the early summer and they are amazing. Sadly found a website called tyre review and forced them from there. They just grip both in wet and dry. I was running the 48s on my spare wheels in the damp in December but quickly changed back to 52s as car was like Bambi. Made a huge difference
