Re: Atom 4 Paint Protection and Detailing
Does the car need to deliver to definitive detail to do the job ?

I'm not entirely sure, I've always dropped mine in to the studio as they're not too far from me. May be worth giving Paul a call.
Re: Atom 4 Paint Protection and Detailing
Great idea getting the chassis protected. When you say your next car won't be a satin finish, what do you mean by that? Do you prefer the gloss for any reason?
Re: Atom 4 Paint Protection and Detailing
I love the look of a satin finish, but in hindsight, I would have ordered gloss. More practical as it can be polished and touched in more easily.

Badders, the £600 is for the PPF film.
What was the cost for the detailing?
I guess if it’s just the PPF required, we’d be better off going directly to Mint Condition?

Re: Atom 4 Paint Protection and Detailing
Don't know the final figure yet, as I'm having both PPF and the detailing done. I'm away currently and collecting when I return. From previous experience, there are many different possibilities for the detailing depending on preferences such as degree of correction and coatings used etc. I think the Atom may be a challenging subject, as so much of it is on show - things like the engine would of course be hidden away in other applications.
I guess PPF could be arranged directly with Mint Condition. However, there's probably some detailing required before and after the film I would think. I'm sure enlisting either, would require the other's expertise. They complement each other very well.
I'm looking forward to sharing some more photos soon.

There's a US bicycle manufacture of high-end off-road bikes who charge an extra $10 on their new bikes to scratch the frame before they deliver it, so you don't have to worry about keping it pristine.

Haha! I have an itch for a Nomad I may need to scratch... I'll ask Henry if he can do the same.Bruce Fielding wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2019 11:58 am There's a US bicycle manufacture of high-end off-road bikes who charge an extra $10 on their new bikes to scratch the frame before they deliver it, so you don't have to worry about keping it pristine.

A few more photos from the engine detail. All close up I'm afraid.
The car is done now, but I'm not collecting until the middle part of next week. I'll have some more photos of the whole car, and the price then.

Re: Atom 4 Paint Protection and Detailing
I have just collected my car after it's visit to Definitive Detail. The results are fantastic, and I am completely thrilled with the results. The car has been ceramic coated wherever possible, and the engine has been treated with something fancy to hopefully prevent it going furry with corrosion, and keep it looking great. The PPF film is really impressive. Gloss for the bodywork and wheel arches, and satin for the chassis parts to match the powder coat finish. The steering wheel has also been coated as well in some fabric protectant of some kind. Wheels have a particularly strong ceramic coat applied, which I've previously had applied to other cars and which really helps keep brake dust and crud off them.
The detailing came in at £550, which got the entire car coated in Gtechniq products. I'm thoroughly impressed.

Drat. Apologies for the upside down photos- new phone clearly at fault, and not the operator. I will try and sort...
Re: Atom 4 Paint Protection and Detailing
£1,050 for the lot then?
