A lot of their suppliers are closed, hence it makes it difficult for them to operate.

There are a few of us waiting to pick up our cars though. Hopefully when Borris finally releases his plan on Sunday we will know when the factory will likely open and we can pick up our cars, the sooner the better I say! :) I am also waiting for the carbon wings but I know their supplier overseas is also out of action.

And let’s hope I can take that passenger ride very soon after you take delivery Simon!

I’m far too excited now about mine but guess it might be a while still

Has anyone gotten a full roll cage fitted and delivered? I've seen a picture of a green frame with full roll cage a while back but not the whole car.

Type R FK8 fuel system upgrade.

Has anyone got knowledge regarding the upgrade available in the USA.

Published on 5 Nov 2019

We are thrilled to announce the Hondata Civic Type R fuel system upgrade. The upgrade consists of hardware and software components designed to deliver 25-30% more fuel flow and power. This system enables the Civic Type R to take the next logical step for a reliable, well engineered and thoroughly tested power increase. High flow direct injection fuel pump High flow ethanol rated in-tank low pressure fuel pump High flow high pressure fuel line High flow fuel injectors Low pressure fuel line Precision Hondata FlashPro software control This kit is a plug and play direct bolt on. Everything can be returned to stock. By way of example Hondata has tested the fuel system on their shop car with stock turbo and engine with 50% flex fuel for over for over 12 months at high torque and power levels. Torque increased 41% from 333 to 468 lb-ft with power increasing 35% from 317 to 428 hp. Testing with a turbo upgrade has seen over 500hp – a 60% power increase.

Availability January 2020 Price $2850 (including $150 core charge)

The full cage one in green you may have seen is mine although its not a bolt in cage its a full Cup Spec Chassis approved for motorsport. Although its still in build so with the lockdown may be a little longer :-[

Unfortunately designed to run with a Hondata Flash Pro and standard Honda ECU which the Atom 4 does not have.

Have you got any pictures of it yet? Intrigued to see one in something other than greyscale!
GR Yaris CP for when it rains, Atom 4 for when it doesn’t.

Finally! I picked up my Atom yesterday from Crewkerne and all I can say is wow! I am so pleased with the car. I have now driven just short of 400 miles in 2 days and I am still not bored of it. Next stop is for it to be detailed and PPF'ed then the wings fitted when it's due it's first service which won't be long at this rate. I may at the same time opt for the carbon wheel arches as well, I saw a car with them at the factory and they look very slick, plus carbon fibre is harder wearing. I just can't stop driving it, I love it everything about it, this is my happiest purchase ever, I am pretty sure of that.

As everyone else knows, the attention this car gets is like something I have never seen before. People honk their horns, wave, nod, smile. A chap in a van tried to get me to stop to talk to me! When walking into petrol stations people stare and say "nice Atom" or "what is that?", or "how much does it cost?".

I wear ear plugs under my helmet, even with the standard exhaust, the air intake, the waste gate and exhaust note makes it quite loud and will bugger my ears up. This is not a problem, it's the same in Radicals, I just got to put them in before putting the helmet on.

So far, I am still running it in so not really red lining it too much only sometimes above 4.5k RPM as per the manual, and it's seriously quick. The lateral grip on the road is planted in the corners, when other cars try to race me on the road - and I am talking fast cars, not your average Nova, they can't keep up not only on the quick bits but the twisties too. The Ohlins I love, I have set them quite soft but they are still quite hard on the road and I know they are best on track which is why I got them. The ZZR's are ok I guess but I haven't really given it too much on the road. I did get a little bit of loss traction in a straight line with them but we'll see when they are bedded in and what they are like on track.

It's hard to keep clean though, these tiny little flies stick to everything, so I am constantly cleaning them off carefully. The aero wind deflector I am told by Steve is easy to scratch.

Cleaning the wheels is easy without even taking them off. I like pushing the car into the garage and rolling it out without starting it, that feels like I am at the track. The new immobiliser has quite a range, so need to be careful at places like car meets. I have the 3" Willans harness with the thick pads and love them. They are very stiff right now to adjusting them can be tricky. I did not opt for the alloy chest adjuster- not sure if this would of been a wise upgrade to make them easier to adjust?

I do think I need the sequential gearbox though. The car pulls so quickly, changing from one gear to the next without dropping the clutch is very slow. As of course it's a new clutch dropping the clutch is not an option because it needs bedding in first but even after this, booting it needs both hands on the wheel to hang on for dear life! When doing such you feel the rear of the car just dig into the tarmac and the front becomes a little light. I can't remember how this compares to the old car having only driven older Atoms on experience days and never owned one before.

Here are some pictures.
