Just one slight problem the idler pulley is a bit tight to the supercharger :H:
Oh well over to the lathe to make a new one

Was the idler pulley that close before? Or have you put a larger one on the supercharger to lower boost?

No it's because the engine block is 19 mm higher than the original 2 liter
So it's moved the tensioner up

Ok I understand now. Not tempted to make a smaller charger pulley yet then? Biggest problem I found was belt slip as standard configuration only has belt on actual charger pulley for about a third of its circumference. So when fit larger crank pulley it can spin on the charger which isn't great. I fitted an aftermarket additional tensioner which effectively wraps the belt round the charger pulley 90%.
A man of your engineering / lathe ability could probably make one in a few hours. Good Luck with the tune Stuart

Hi Stuart
No plans to make the charger pulley any smaller at present
It's on the dyno on Thursday so when we know what it dose
Then more avenues to investigate

Place your bets everybody.

20% more capacity and higher rev limit (over 9K)

What power we guessing... >:D

Or will there be a restriction somewhere? ???

K24A1 piston speed at 9,000 rpm

K24A1 piston speed at 9,600 rpm
(.099×2×9600)/60=31.7m/s
F20C S2000 piston speed at 9,000 rpm

The main restriction is the crankcase, but the rods will prevail.

Well that was a interesting month
Car delivered to be run in and mapped

First problem the FlashPro is a Airel only branded unit
First run 305bhp really disappointed with that reason was the charger wasn’t compressing enough air.
Fitted a larger crank pulley to speed up the charger
Results are in
Engine 338.1 bhp @ 7855 rpm.
Torque 240.7 lbft @ 6280 rpm.

Hi all So how much boost did you make did you have to fit a new ecu or running with Hondata or K Pro you can get a Haltec Elite 1500 to piggy back the ecu giving you lots more control of things.Levo.

Well I must admit I did expect a little more (although probably not the 360bhp target). I have no experience of the K24/20 engine but there is obviously a restriction stopping the power somewhere. The JRSC isn't great but the larger capacity you have should help this as with larger crank pulley your boost levels wont actually go silly as you are filling a larger engine! Although charger spinning like crazy so heats up a lot.

Unfortunately whilst more tuning might find another 10 or 20hp (for one lap) without some form of charge cooling or water meths you are fighting a losing battle. A mate of mine on here went down the same route as my tune using a TVS 1320 supercharger side pods and charge cooling on a standard K20 engine and actually ended up winding the boost back as he was nearing 380/400 bhp.

With that charger and fuel system upgrades you can easily achieve those figures with that engine and likely push towards 450.

But its sidepods and charge cooler or water meths as a minimum plus best part of £10k with the TVS1320 and fuel system upgrades.

One last point is as I was told superchargers can be restricted by the throttle body so that might be worth making larger although that won't gain the 30bhp your looking for.

Good luck though I love a good Atom tune

Stuart
