Been looking for a localish place to service and cherish the Atom and hopefully come up trumps - anyone used him?
http://www.hpeauto.co.uk/
Before i bought the Atom, i joined a few FB groups to get a feel for what was out there as had a soft spot for a s1 exige (misus the K-series...) The lotus K20 FB groups led me to read about HPE and Dan Webster. Everone seemed v happy with his detail and work. Same for the midland lotus OC.
Now that i have an Atom, i investigated further and he is 10 mins from my work! I popped down last week for a chat and he had a few Lotus inc a 340R in for K20 transplants, performance improvement (a stroked 2.2 k20 on throttle boddies =305bhp NA!) plus the usual VX220/elises for servicing/tinkering. Interestingly the next unit along is the Honda race engine specialist "Clockwise Motion" I can see this being expensive!
So next is to get the Atom in:
service
MOT
balance shaft delete
bespoke back box
Hes busy til end of March so will update on progress

In all honesty though, it would be very interesting to see how you get on with the improvements. Keep us posted!

I’ve got one of Dan’s 2.2 throttle body k20s in my S1 Elise. 300bhp and 210lbft makes it really good fun and it sounds ace.
Have been lurking on here for a few months as ordered an Atom 4 in November - going to be a long wait....
