You won't find a better '2' anywhere - the full rebuild was extensively documented on this forum !

After a lot of thought I think a supercharged Atom 3 would be a better purchase.Anyone selling one please get in touch.

I can see the Atom 4 being like a GT3 soon enough, 3 year wait times. This is a major benefit to buying an Atom the demand for these awesome cars is huge which means residuals remain intact.

Congrats on your order!

This well specified 2005 Atom 2 300, which was previously advertised by Targa Florio Cars at £37k, has just come up on eBay for £35k. It had a new MOT put on it in 27th October, but says "no odometer" so no mileage recorded. Previous to that it was MOTd 1st June 2017 when it showed 17,634 miles, so there is a gap in its MOT history when it was either off the road or, judging by all the track shots of it in the advert, was only being used on track. It doesn't mention much of a service history (TDI North last saw it) and there is only one "arty" static shot of it (why can't people be bothered to take decent photos of their car when they went to sell it?). Anyone know it?

Ariel Atom cup number 44 previously owned by Richard Marler WK13ACU Vin Number AA12H20ACLNRAM926

Currently being auctioned here https://www.normanspond.com/vehicle-detail/MjA5

Went to inspect and discussed it with the factory. Looks like a reasonable race car, however bodywork is badly chipped and spidering cracks over the mud guards and rear engine cover. Seat is chipped significantly around the seat belts. Steering rack has some play, clutch bearing is making a noise so needs replacing. Several of the rose joints are rusted/seized and need replacing. Several of the rod ends are chipped and rusting and need refurbishing. No documented service history was forthcoming, but Ariel cup team maintained it while racing for the first 2/3 years.

According to factory there is about £5k worth of work to bring it back to reasonable condition. This excludes anything on the chassis, which has had several knocks during various Ariel cup races (see videos) so needs checking.

The chassis is marked, scratched and scuffed in several places - when I’ve previously refurbished mine it cost about £850 per side so probably a further £1700-£2000 to bring it back to A1 condition.

Anyone recognise this?
Yes. It’s Atomiser’s old car. I managed to purchase it as-is and have sent it back to the factory for mending. :)
