Former Ariel factory "instruction" Atom for sale

This car popped on eBay recently - a rebuilt supercharged Atom 2. It has passenger side clutch pedal as it was apparently used by the factory to instruct new owners. Has anyone seen/been in this car back in the day? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ariel-Atom-S ... :rk:2:pf:0

The rebuild is obviously of the highest quality as is evidenced by the the harness eye bolts having been painted in situ (who doesn't want them to be colour coded), the rear light being held in with a cable tie (to save weight over using a bolt no doubt), the quality Rovelo tyres (to improve your drifting skills everywhere you go), the exposed wiring (to make it much easier to put out when it catches fire). All in all it looks like a genuine bargain to me at £33k (just be sure to take them up on their "buy one and get free life insurance" deal!

Ad also says it has a handbrake, which doesn't appear in the normal place, and can't see it anywhere else either.

I also suspect some time (and many miles) have passed since it was used as an Ariel Demo/Training car. I'm pretty sure Ariel wouldn't present that to clients/potential clients to use in an even vaguely similar state.

This was never a demo car... ever. And youre right - we wouldnt present that to anyone!

Having just looked at its MOT history, apart from the latest one running out in May this year and there being a 3 year gap from 2014 to 2017, they have also very kindly reduced the mileage from 26,235 in May 2017 to only 20,000 miles now! I just can't believe no one has bought this beauty yet!

Its never been an Ariel test car.
Its got the wrong mileage
Its got no handbrake fitted.
Its not been upgraded to Atom 3 spec in any way.
Its not 320BHp

etc

Its obviously a old experience day hack someone has repainted.

I noticed there is a lot of wear where the clutch is on the drivers side from what appears to be foot wear. Has any owners looked to place protective sheeting or mats of some kind to protect the tub from looking tired after a while?

The advert also suggests warranty, if this is true I am curious as to who provides such warranty because as far as I understand it Ariel does not.

Quite a few have added things to the tub floor to strengthen it and prevent wear from what I suspect is mostly caused by unsuitable footwear or not keeping the floor clean.

This ranges from riveting a plate (Bruce) to neoprene mats and in a more recent case - Astroturf !
