I did consider buying a used one, also buying a Radical (still considering this, but I really want a RXC). I'm fairly near the top of the 4 list so it should be a summer-ish delivery for me. All I care about is when I get the build slot confirmed, 10 wks later my car is ready! :vroom:

As we have been discussing build times, and dates...

Whats the current expected timeline to start the first customer builds? Its just a few weeks now till Jan, bearing in mind I suspect you will be closed for a period over Xmas.

Are you still looking to start the first customer builds early January?
Atom 4, Clio v6, & some other cars obviously.

Hi all
Anyone willing to share some suggestions? Based in belgium all tottaly new for me
Will be using the 4 mainly for road use. Perhaps 1 or 2 trackdays a year.
Must haves? Things that can be easely done afterwards?
So my budget does not explode and the wife stays happy 😅
When ordering the car only mentioned base price to her😜
Thx in advance

Yes thanks i did! Is there a big difference between the 2 ap racing brake kits?
Or no big differences for mainly road use?

The absolute minimum for road and occasional light track work would be.

Limited Slip Differential
Baffled Engine Oil Sump
Sports brakes front and rear
Aero Screen
Locking Fuel Cap
IVA Test
Road Tax + Registration
Plus colour as required.

But I would recommend upgraded AP front brakes and adjustable suspension if you can afford it. There are also lots of other useful suggestions earlier in this thread.

This depends on the rotors used on the 4. The AP 2 piece brakes, If they are floating then there is a big difference at least on track. Even if they are fixed there are other benefits with reduced weight etc. For the road, I wouldn't bother personally and probably even go with the stock brakes for mostly road use.

Ok thx for that! No risk of fading on the rare track days with the standard brakes?

I very much doubt it but who knows as it's a new car. If I were building a mostly road car, I would run the stock brakes first, try them, if they not good for your driving on the rare days it's on track (and this does depend how hard you drive it) then upgrade at that time. It's quite easy to change later on if needed.

My car will be mostly tracked so I will need the bigger rotors not because of worrying of brake fade but for better brake performance so I can drive it harder. I like to go fast! lol

Be aware there are 3 types of brakes. Standard, Sports and AP (with 2 types of discs).

If you are planning on tracking your car I would suggest sports brakes all around as a minimum.

Thx i think i would go for the cheaper AP.
Better value for the car
Could this be a problem on the road as with this type of brakes you have to warm them up first
Or am i wrong?

Thats not the case here. Don't worry about it. That's track spec pads on other cars, and not applicable to the Atom "big brake" options. You will be fine with the APs on the road. :tu:

Had a few minor confirmations from Ariel. Spec is now:

Atom 4 320bhp 6 Speed
Limited Slip Differential
Baffled Engine Oil Sump
AP Racing 4 Pot Caliper/290mm Disc Front
AP Racing 4 Pot Caliper/290mm Disc Rear
Black Brake and Clutch Lines with Stainless Steel Fittings
Handbrake System for Rear 4 Pot Caliper Brakes
Bilstein Single Adjustable Dampers with 2 piece springs - Road/Track
Quick Release Steering Wheel
Towing Eye Kit Rear Road/Track Day Use
Towing Eye Kit Front Road/Track Day Use
Road Legal Wheel and Track Day Tyre Package (to get the ZZRs!)
Stainless Steel Fixings
Aero Screen
Locking Fuel Cap
Tracker (Insurance approved)
2" Harness With Alloy Chest Adjusters (Each Side)
Carbon Fibre Body Set (airbox,bonnet)
Carbon Fibre Instrument Panel
Black Colour Wheels
Alternative Colour Powder Coat Chassis (not cheap!)
IVA Test
Road Tax + Registration
Coming to a tad over £54k inc paint. Could easily hit £60k if you wanted Ohlins and more power. :(

I think I may largely copy you (if you don’t mind) but may just get the more power.
