Sports Exhaust - Quick Review
Sports Exhaust - Quick Review
I recently picked up a sports exhaust from Henry for my US 2.0 AA3: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=16807
The sports exhaust looks identical to the factory muffler, but it's slightly lighter (less baffling/channeling inside the can) and it only runs exhaust gasses through the left side of the muffler (the right tip is fake). It's also considerably louder than the factory variant, which is apparent from the short rev videos below, and even louder when driving hard/accelerating. My Atom now sounds as mean as it looks!
A side-by-side comparison:

Re: Sports Exhaust - Quick Review
Personally I think that it was better value getting my exhaust Zircotec'd - fully ceramic coated inside and out - manifold to the end!

It has actually added about 12bhp to my Atom's overall power output with no increase in noise as personally I much prefer the stealth approach - due to better exhaust gas heat control - and, for my taste at least, really looks like the d*gs b*****ks!
While I decided to go for 'Matt Black Volcano' with polished tips there are many other colours available to choose from.
The final bonus is that it will never ever need polishing!!

It looks good but I still prefer the shiny polished look of the sports exhaust not to mention the awesome sound!
Re: Sports Exhaust - Quick Review
While I prefer the chrome look for the muffler, I will definitely be getting the header ceramic coated in black this winter - it really cleans it up!

Re: Sports Exhaust - Quick Review
The sports exhaust is just ostentatious puff & blow and, because of this, ultimately pointless as it adds no power and, at most racetracks in the UK, cannot be used as it is too noisy!!
Basically it is as pointless as a f**t in a tunnel!!
