Rear view / reversing camera monitor system
Has anyone either fitted (or considered fitting) a 'mirror image' rear view waterproof camera system to their Atom/Nomad?
There are now several waterproof LCD monitors available (Transport Support and other vendors offer a range) - it occurs to me that a waterproof LCD monitor mounted under the dash (i.e. in the shade) in the centre of the car might offer a reasonable 'permanently on' rear view 'mirror' image of what's behind!

Paired with a reasonably high quality wide angle camera (or more than one camera?) it might make for much safer progress - some sytems can also display reversing gridlines and a stop line indication.

Nah, belts off and look over my shoulder, I drive it to get away from technology

Re: Rear view / reversing camera monitor system
I fitted one a few years back. I ran it for a few weeks but found it:
- distracting when going forward - didn't find it as natural as glancing up to a normal rear view mirror
- of little benefit reversing - couldn't get to grips with the fisheye distortion

Can’t say I’ve ever felt the need. As Creighton says I just in-do the harness and look over my shoulder or use the mirrors.

“Take me home “ you have to go out in it first

I don't know where I am or where I'm going these days anyway (Acquired Topographic Agnosia) so Satnav is essential.
