GoPro Bracket
Hi guys,
I'm about to get a GoPro Black Edition. Could anyone recommend a good bracket to attach it to my Atom please?
Best

Re: GoPro Bracket
I use this one:
Fits on to all of the chassis tubes (AA2). Joy expensive mounting (as all gopro items) and out of plastic but works fine for me.
Before buying a GoPro take also a closer look on the Sony Actioncams range.
Imho better picture performance and also tracks GPS Data.
I use the Sony AS200V but if you are looking into 4K then X1000V.
The sony remote watch is absolutly useless so buying only the cam kit is the way to go. The provided Sony App does the job very well.
There is a slightly different mounting than the gopro but you can buy a connector for the 1/4" thread for about 5-6€ and then you can use all of the gopro mountings.

Re: GoPro Bracket
I've got the Go Pro roll bar mount above and just a note that it doesn't fit around the large tubes on the frame. Only the smaller ones. I'm still yet to find anything that will fit over the larger tubes.
Cheers

Interesting, mine fits on the bigger and the smaller chassis tubes. Is there a difference in tube diameter within the different Atom models? Or maybe a different version of the gopro roll bar mount.

Same here, AA3.5
Here's a boring vid with it attached further forward than Oli indicated, but same rail:

Re: GoPro Bracket
If you have the standard "bench" seat I prefer the angle and position if you stick it onto the seat, in between the 2 seating positions. Just put it as high as you can, and the angle is rather good. I like it as its eye height and provides a good impression of speed, and is like a "drivers view". You can also see the instruments and your feet if your getting "fancy" . Just use the 3M adhesive mounts provided with the camera. Simple, unobtrusive and effective.

Atom 4, Clio v6, & some other cars obviously.
Re: GoPro Bracket
Oh and grab more batteries and a multi-battery charger. The batteries last no time on the Hero 4 Black.
FYI I use 1080p 60fps on the camera, and edit down to 720p 60fps for youtube.
Plenty more vids here if your interested > https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2dfLlhrRQPvSUujUCab3wA
You can see some other camera mounts too.

Interesting. Wonder if I've just not got long enough bolts... Will take a look.
Cheers mate

Re: GoPro Bracket
Over my right shoulder.
All three fittings below the camera are RAM mount parts. Nyloc bolt on the base.
GoPro is tethered to the seat belt loop.
Use a tiny spirit level to check camera angle.

Have just bought this and it fits on all the tubes.
I've got the GoPro official one above but it doesn't fit round the upper roll bar

Having experienced the same problem as you (your post of 24th June 2016) in regard to a GoPro Hero 4 Black 'eating' batteries!
I have found this little gem http://ridermount.com/product/x-pwr-powered-case-for-gopro-hero3-hero4/.
I have copied Steve Gibson in that I have permanently fitted 2 Ram Mount ball mounts which are bolted to a roll bar mounting bolt hole behind the outside shoulder of both driver and passenger.
The USB 'B-CAPP' cable that comes with the X-Pwr all-weather powered case is only 18" long so I have simply bought an USB 3 'A' extension cable (male to female) and a RAVpower duel USB car charger (see links below) - connected to the car's 12v power supply via the USB cable which fits into my 12v socket under the satnav mount.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00Q2GFP4M/ref=pe_385721_37986871_TE_item
The Car RAVpower car charger has 2 USB 'iSmart' sockets so I can run/charge my mobile phone at the same time as running the GoPro camera if I wish.
It will run as long as you like (or until the data storage card is full!) - If it is not likely to rain I fit the 'open back' to the powered case to dissipate any possible heat build up!

Re: GoPro Bracket
Apologies for opening a 2 year old thread, but I think I'm in the market for some video tech...
I'm currently looking at the Innovv C5 which is more of a permanently plumbed in system that activates when the ignition is live and has continuous loop recording etc. etc.
It's basically a dashcam for bikes; as opposed to a GoPro that needs turning on and batteries being swapped every 3 hours (?)
https://innovv.co.uk/products/c5/
Don't suppose anyone here happens to have experience of the C5, either in an Ariel or a 2 wheeled motor?
Or are there other 'bike dashcams' I should consider?
Cheers all!
