some pics of my turbo atom at Honda euro meet track event - with f1 wing

Post by dc5ian » Tue Sep 01, 2015 1:42 pm

every year (4 years on the trot) i gate crash a honda event. providing i have a honda engine they let me participate.

here are some photos. my front wing caused a bit of a stir on here as it is a bit ott but doesnt look so bad after its been painted the same color as the car. it did provide extra down force and heat into the front tyres i had to dial in more front brake bias then i have even done without it.

Did you get more front end grip?

for sure, i still experienced under-steer going into the slow speed corners but high speed corners the front end was planted

That's as you'd expect.  Glad it worked.

I think an F1 rear wing would look nice also - one of the slim ones off Nico's car would be nice - he's not going to beat Lewis this year so might as well donate his to you now and have done with it.
Good job with the front one - the white and red looked a bit gawdy and stood out like a sore thumb.
Looks like the front wing has always been there now.

i think a f1 rear wing will be to difficult to fit. plus i want it to actually work so would have to be mounted high up in clean air. i have been in contact with a company and agreed a price to build  a 1.75m double plane wing with a width of 450mm for the bottom plane and 250mm for the top.

id also be doing a hub conversion to a more favorable pcd so i can run wider wheels.

ian,

yes we can do that.  are you just interested in the rears?  we now have fronts also.  both fronts and rears use high strength 40mm hubs (either stock 4x3.75" or optional 4x100mm bolt pattern) and porsche 911 bearings.  leadtime is 4-6 weeks.

cost is $1,750 for just the two rears or $3,000 for the full set of 4.  includes updated caliper brackets.

best,

dennis
