Very funny Ross, it sounds like you missed a bunch of gears, i have seen anyone (unless you are Jason Platto) change gear so fast...
Re: The Atom Video Thread - Post links to Atom videos here
Wouldn't it be great if the Atom really did go and sound like that for real though?
I want a car that's like that.

Thought I'd post this one for a laugh:-
A very very quick lap of Cadwell in an F1 Atom.
Cheers, Ross.

Words just seem to fail! I am quite sure that this thread is meant to drive those of us who have ordered Atoms crazy! The videos are amazing and just whet the lips of us who have only to wait for the thrill!!!
The tour of Brammo is just what the Doctor ordered!
There was a question posted on the forum asking if there should be site that would allow a new owner to follow their car through the manufacturing process. After viewing the Brammo tour, can there be any doubt as to what the answer should be?
Bruce: thanks for posting the Woolery video. Mr. Woolery: thanks for taking the time to make the video. Craig: you have an amazing facility! Melody, Cindy and the rest of the gang: I am grateful that I can put a face to a name!!
Keep up the great work!

This video is footage of the Atom from every angle, at rest, in driving scenes, from the passenger's perspective, doing some very fun stuff. There is no real "Track footage" but there is some screaming for sheer joy and thrill in there. It may bore you silly. You have been warned.
There is a 25 mb version called Ride the ATom_0003, and a 260something mb version (the high quality one) called Ride the Atom_0002.
The Big Version: Called Ride the Atom 0002 ( 260MB ) The best quality to watch the video full screen!

Medium Version: Ride the Atom 0004 (100mb)

The small Version: Called Ride the Atom 0003 ( 24mb ) Make your window very small for decent image quality.

Can you share the gear that you're using?
I'm specially interested in the mount and how some of those videos are really low vibration. Shown is a mounting "special" work in progress.
Pseudo fluid head with lock nut removed to permit some damping? Rubber bands to keep it "centered" somewhat.
I'd previously mounted above the airbox, but this area had a lot of fine vibration. Now as you see it, this is near trhe lower left of the roll bar.
Roll bar is 2 inches diameter. That JVC unit is writing to removable Compact Flash memory or micro drive. But micro drive would be damaged from vibes.
This camcorder was chosen on recomendation of DP. The price is half of what it had been a year ago. Yes, 3 CCD. They must be coming out with another version.

Bullet cam mounts do shake, and the best bet is to use loads of gaffer/duct tape to attach the bullet directly to the frame.
The rearward facing stuff on mine was done using a proper DV camera with anti-shake technology. If it's rearward facing, you don't have to worry so much about stones in the lens. I shall try it forward facing soon, too.
Then it's just a matter of finding a good place for the mic. Atoms are rubbish for recording sound (with the exception of James' 450 which sounds superb!). Under the cowl wrapped in socks is the professional solution (not sure if cotton or wool, will try both)
