Very excited Atom 4 owner
I’ve been lurking around on this forum for a while now and have finally taken the plunge and bought a new Atom 4 (more on this later) my atom story started having sat in the Ariel Atom 4 demo car at the Goodwood festival of speed back in July 2019 and pondering was the atom the right choice or not as my new track toy could I wait 3 years for a new car and should I spend this kind of money on a toy!
I’ve watched with interest cars come up for sale over the last few years and thought I’d eventually buy a secondhand car and set my sights on saving up and taking the plunge as a birthday present to myself for my 50th!!! Not fully expecting the twist and turns life would throw at me.
However, my 50th came along this year and my forever understanding wife booked a weekend away in Somerset and announced that we would be visiting the Ariel factory as part of the festivities. Very exciting!!
On arrival Benn from Ariel showed us around and talked us through the Ariel factory history and the collection of vintage bikes and cars. The tour then moved into the workshop where Benn showed us the various cars and bikes in production and pointed out that a unicorn car (the very very rare cancellation car) was available and looking for a new home!!! Well the tour took a very different turn at this point and we started talking specs and what I would be using the car for.The tour concluded and we left the factory with me trying out my best man maths to make this work. Lol
Needless to say after a few cups of tea and some pondering over upgrades (Benn From Ariel is a patient man) and a few weeks later a deposit was paid and the car was then personalised for me and ready for collection.
I can appreciate that most of you on here have already had this experience but I’m still too excited not to share my journey into Atom ownership!
