Re: Nomad v Atom - first impressions

I see you have the same adjustable bilsteins - off road i find the best settings are 3/4 on blue and 8-9 on red fyg. What I am enjoying with the Nomad as opposed to Atom is the way it rides on the crappy roads and doesnt crash/thump all the time. Also the softer set up means in anything other than d...

Re: A303 and detectors

I got done on the A303 this summer - i have been up and down that road for 12 years and never an issue - then this summer a laser from a bridge on the opposite side of the road so not visible from the direction i was travelling. Near Sparkford fyg. 81 mph - 1st pic is focused on a flower in central ...

Re: Nomad v Atom - first impressions

The noise I reckon mainly comes from the light bar - it is super noisy and I am planning on taking the lights off for the first trackday I am doing in March - it should also reduce drag alot ! The rain avoidance is a big issue if you drive in that weather - I dont really but intersted anyway in case...

Re: Nomad ownership 15 months in

Welcome to the Nomad group !

I assume you mean the gap between windscreen and chassis bar ? When you use the wipers it pushes the water down that and onto your trousers ! I figure if i am going on a run when rain may be likely I will just put gaffer tape on the gap.....

Re: Nomad Sump guard

Karl - 1/2 metre of Horse piss and mud i think you meant - and yes - never again......well I say that now...... Ref Winch - I was in same situation - costs were spiralling so I felt I had to draw the line - I really want a removable one - so you can unbolt/unplug etc - but factory say thats just not...

Re: Washing Tips

I have 2 similar jacks myself and I tend to lift the rear of the car both sides together then put the stands u set but leave the jacks in place for safety. The stainless exhaust unfortunately is just very hard work and very time consuming. I could get it gleaming but after hrs of rubbing !! It’s why...

Re: SORN

I had an Optimate trickle charger i had used on previous Atoms and was fine - not sure if the Nomad has a larger battery or if the charger had lost ability but I found the battery wasnt being charged enough with it - so went to a Ctek that the factory uses and so far so good. I just leave it connect...

Agreed that is no 1 for the protection but I would do both if you are looking at all.

Not gonna Sorn it - dont see the reason tbh - the saving is minimal in real terms. When the snow arrives I want to play !!

Re: Nomad Sump guard

Just to reiterate - and echo (more concisely Karls points) the Sump guard is a necessity I now feel if using off road. It cost £200 and you can easily fit at home. Its fiddly but no more than a hour of 2 nights (as you drill the rear chassis holes out and then should paint them i feel). The front bu...

Re: Atom 4 buyers spec discussion thread

I do get people’s concerns but Atoms and Nomads are never base spec cars - when I bought I first new one the reports said Abu £30k - yet I spent £45k in not a ridiculous spec. The point here is you can have an Atom 4 at just over £40k - it won’t have much on it and will be bog standard colours etc ...
