Re: Trackday at Thruxton

Thruxton has always been very marginal for an Atom but if you have your Cat fitted and are really nice with the noise guys you should just scrape through (just be slow in building the revs.) I know the people in this shot and that was indeed at Thruxton.
I hope that you have a great day.

Re: Atom owner in waiting..

Hi, thanks for great response. Supercharged and looking at 3.5 as understanding from reading on here is that there were chassis, steering and gemotry changes from a 3 to a 3.5 which make a difference for road driving. Happy to be educated otherwise. Fine with manual and 310hp 😀 Budget, looking at a...

I bought off them a couple of months ago.

Couldn't get through on the phone but got a reply to email after about 10 days!

Re: Dimensions of an AA 3.5

I can't remember precisely what mine was but thought that it was 1.8 wide including the 225 tyres? If in doubt, a quick call to the Factory will clarify, they are extremely helpful. 1.95m wide is as narrow as you comfortably want it for loading though, ideally 2m bed width for when you are loading i...

Re: Atom 4 - Build and Collection

I was seeing 104c coolant temps on a UK track day last week with a standard radiator. So I don't think that radiator is sufficient. I hope that was one of our hot days, you was stopped waiting to go on track and I suppose that is the temp when the cooling fans step in? I was going to option the upr...

Re: Atom 4 - Build and Collection

Anyone gone for the sports core intercooler as presume there is a heat soak issue on trackdays too if there is a need for the need for the better rad? Yes, I've got it (and the sports core.) I've had turbo cars on track before and heat soak is always an issue. The Atom is no exception to this rule ...

Re: Atom 4 - Build and Collection

Sommi, It's a great spec but as a new owner there are definitely some things that I would do without and add a year down the line if you still want them (and this is speaking as someone who has ticked most of the boxes.) 350 Upgrade - This changes the car massively and you will want it but go 320 at...

Re: Rough track fuel usage on Atom 4

You won't get through as much as that in the Atom.

A full tank and 60 litres has been easily enough at every track day in the 4 so far, including Snetterton.

Taking 80l is a good shout though as Dr Palmer knows how to charge for fuel!

Re: Atom 4 - Just a no no no...

Are you running with 320 or 350 with/without wings? I am very interested as to how you got on at Cadwell with the Atom as its my local and hopefully will be doing a few days there in the new year once I collect my 4 due early next year. I would have thought that Cadwell would really suit a 4 with w...

Lordy, what an eclectic mix us Atom lot appear to be.
