Re: Atom 4. Oil Temperature?
The mileage is built into the aim dash so this is the main reason it’s locked. Whilst that's an entirely plausible explanation, I would also consider it a convenient excuse to hide at least one "massaged" parameter (ie road speed as displayed on the dash), but it makes me wonder if there ...

Re: Atom 4. Oil Temperature?
Can someone explain the benefit to Ariel in locking the AIM dash for Atom 4s? - I could understand this approach if the factory actually offered a bespoke (chargeable) dash update/modification/reprogramming service but since they don't appear to want to offer this what on earth is the point in lock...

Re: Atom 4. Oil Temperature?
I presume by by simply adding an AIM oil temp sensor and connecting it to the Strada Data logger? Data will then be registered in data AIM collects and can be consulted after downloading data on PC. Please note I don't have an oil temp sensor myself, but should work this way. Or am I missing someth...

Re: Atom 4. Oil Temperature?
Not standard. Only oil Pressure... However, oil temp sensor can always be added. You cannot read it on the dash but you can read out in the data afterwards when you have the data logger. How would you get it to be included in the logged data? We've had to settle for having a separate analogue cockp...

Re: Oil pressure warning lights
I thought the oil warning light wouldn't normally illuminate until pressure was well below 1bar - probably more like 0.5bar? And if that's the case with your car then I'm afraid I'd be pretty concerned for the health of my engine. What the lowest kind of rpm that the light has come on at? If idle rp...

Re: Atom 4 owners whatsappgroup
It is a great group with banter and photo's but i do think where issues are highlighted and possible solutions discussed this would be far better posted on a forum as they are there for others in the future rather than just been lost in a whatsapp group Well said Stuart. The WhatsApp Group in great...

Re: Couple of questions following track day
The loss of power is the air temp increasing as others have said there is no way round this. The delay coming out of corners could be your losing V-Tec have you a baffled sump? Have you checked your oil level? If the V-Tec loses oil pressure momentarily it doesn't work properly. If you speak to the...

Re: Couple of questions following track day
What you describe in terms of the reduced top speed is similar to the experience with Atom 4, and is largely due to coolant temps going sky high (often well over 100degC). My understanding is that 3.5s don't suffer high coolant temps (better/more airflow to the radiator) but worth keeping an eye on....

Re: Ohlins setup
Maybe you need helper springs as these will allow more travel on droop/rebound?

Re: The curious case of the Atom 4 Cooling
Of course but you'll not be able to do 2 consecutive laps because of water coolant temp .... I'm not quite sure what you mean? In the last session of the day, finishing at around 3pm when ambient temps were pretty much at their highest, the car completed 11 consecutive 2 miles laps without any kind...

Re: The curious case of the Atom 4 brakes
The brake master cylinders on the Atom 4 are Tiltons and incorporate their own bleed valves, which is handy, but the clutch master cylinder is an AP. Oh, sorry my mistake - I dont known that. And what series? I had thought brake from AP and MC from AP too. I had changed my MCs at my Atom3 from Tilt...

Re: The curious case of the Atom 4 Cooling
Yes, entirely as per factory spec. And good to have it confirmed that off throttle temp spikes are not a problem. At yesterday's Cadwell Park test day we didn't see coolant temps go above 96degC whereas in similar ambient conditions we've routinely seem temps well over 100degC. Essentially this was...

Re: The curious case of the Atom 4 Cooling
What was the exterior temp at Cadwell when you were driving ? If it was less than 26°c outside , it is much more difficult to see water temp going higher than 100°c. Of course this depend of the track but this is what we have seen here on Atoms 4 in July between the morning and the afternoon (hot d...

Re: The curious case of the Atom 4 Cooling
@plip1953 If the factory have installed the engine, turbo, blow-off and sensors as Honda do - the rising AIRT after lifting the throttle is normally and no problem. Yes, entirely as per factory spec. And good to have it confirmed that off throttle temp spikes are not a problem. At yesterday's Cadwe...

Re: The curious case of the Atom 4 brakes
@plip1953 Sound good I am curious about your driving report. 4. An AP proportioning valve in the rear circuit. Also recently added. Do you have forgotten to order the bias adjuster? Please show the partNo. of the valve. And most crucially, we have eliminated any and all air in the system. Don't und...
