Re: 2018 550 mile 3.5R For Sale at The Classic Collection
Depends directly on what you spec, you are right if you mean just adding the pods, charge cooler and oil cooler but if you want to go the 'whole hog' and have the frame upgraded to the FULL 3.5R spec which includes adding the mounting points for a sequential gearbox and the additional frame strength...

Re: 2018 550 mile 3.5R For Sale at The Classic Collection
If you want the full 3.5R upgrade with all the bells and whistles it's usually rather closer to £18000!

Re: Fuel and temp gauge
Henry That's interesting as my 3 5R, when not stuck in traffic and in clear air, generally runs between 82° and 88° - even in the Cyprus summer - and the electric fan usually kicks in at circa 93° - 94° and cuts out at 88°. However this may be because I retrofitted, on Steve Roooke's advice, an Atom...

Re: Atom 3.5 Standard brakes - M1144
I would strongly suggest that before you do anything you should simply call the Ariel factory who should be able to tell you the exact spec of your 3.5 and then take it from there in regard to upgrading/modifying the brakes!

Re: 4 Atoms in manheim auction
Frank Most of these are 'Experience' day cars that people can buy a session on track - all sorts of odds and sods can pitch up and drive! They are also the most basic spec available and I don't see anything about being supercharged so are most likely 245s? You will notice that the mileage is 'not wa...

Re: Atom 4. Oil Temperature?
As I understand the UK regulations state that tachometers are permitted to overread by up to 10% (not mph) but no under-reading is permitted (for obvious reasons) So most manufacturers ensure that their tacho's overread by a few percent As it's a %age and not a fixed amount it's less of a problem th...

Re: Atom 4. Oil Temperature?
There are procedures in place in regard to the registered mileage should the dash need replacing or in the event of upgrading to a alternative display. When I upgraded my 3.5 to the 3.5R spec I upgraded the dash at the same time and the original analogue dash mileage was recorded on the relevent inv...

Re: Atom 4. Oil Temperature?
In that case, if the dash was unlocked, there would be money to be made reprogramming the dash for those owners who 'f' up their dash - win win all around!

Re: Atom 4. Oil Temperature?
Can someone explain the benefit to Ariel in locking the AIM dash for Atom 4s? - I could understand this approach if the factory actually offered a bespoke (chargeable) dash update/modification/reprogramming service but since they don't appear to want to offer this what on earth is the point in locki...

Re: Atom 3.5 K24 | CO Too high
Facing the back of the Atom use the left exhaust exit on the STANDARD exhaust to do the test reading as the exhaust gas flow gets to travel a greater distance - mine has a high reading if I use the right exit but much lower using the left pipe. A really hard hour's drive to get the engine as hot as ...

Re: Atom 3, Retrofit 6 point harness
Just give Willans a call and tell them that you want a 6 point harness for an Atom 3 series with either 2" or 3" straps and what colour webbing you would like. They know exactly what sizes are required and you only need to be happy with the price. Usually takes about a 7 - 10 days or so fo...

Re: Supercharger Replacement
Doesn't matter where you are in the world these days it's always possible to ship/obtain services from anywhere - all at the click of a button! I regularly buy from the USA/Canada as I have a 'virtual' US shipping address (in a purchase tax-free state) provided FREE by an international freight forwa...

Re: Dash indicator lights
Over nearly 8 years of ownership I have developed the technique (and habit) of keeping my fingers on the turn switch while the indicators are selected - cancelling the switch as soon as I actually start to turn as a result I very seldom forget to cancel!

Re: Atom 4 owners whatsappgroup
Anx10ous It's interesting that you think that interesting threads are 'hidden' behind a paywall but membership of the Ariel owner's club at £30 pa is hardly expensive (6 or 7 cups of coffee at Starbucks or ½ a tank of fuel?) after all the ISP hosting the forum has to be paid! I have had a considerab...
