Re: Atom 4 owners whatsappgroup
Speedmachine You puzzle me slightly in regard to your comment about the Ariel forum and 'phones' in your post! I access this forum almost exclusively on my phone - and not via Tapatalk - which irritates me!! As to your comment about "... everyone to see on the internet......" if things are...

Re: 2020 Atom 4 for Sale
Frank It's called a 'Certificate of conformity' but these are generally only issued by major car manufacturers. - in the UK Ariel put every car they priduce through an 'IVA' (Individual Certificate of Authorisation' and so are unable (as far as I'm aware) to provide a 'COC' Everything conspires agai...

Re: Couple of questions following track day
There is also air density to consider - cold air is considerably more dense than warm air. One of the downsides of a supercharger is that it compresses the incoming air which raises the inlet manifold air temperature markedly which is why on a standard supercharged Atom the air is only compressed to...

Re: How to tie the Atom down on a trailer
Likewise to Stupot I've always strapped over the wheels of my Atom on my purpose built PRG trailer and have towed my Atom many a mile with no issues whatsoever. Whenever the tracking/geometry has been checked (usually at the annual service) it's always been spot on! I'm aware that Henry suggests str...

Re: Hello/Digital Dash Question
I'm sure if you book it in for a full check over and service at the factory they will be able to sort out (reflash) the dash for you at the same time. When I bought my Atom (privately) the first thing I did was to have the factory give it a thorough once over and service - discovered during the proc...

Re: Long Trips in Atom
An Atom with a windscreen not only looks considerably more rakish than one with aeroscreens but has several mph higher top speed - especially if side panels are also fitted! I've got both options and can change whenever I wish - however whenever I change back to the aeroscreen option it's usually on...

Re: Finance or Cash
Having been a member of the club for over 7 years I can't say that I've seen much discussion about purchase financing - I've no doubt that quite a few have probably made use of a bank loan if they have a sympathetic bank manager! That said I really don't remember much, if any, discussion in the foru...

Re: Long Trips in Atom
The other alternative, of course, is to fit the optional windscreen which makes long distance driving far more pleasurable, dispenses with any need for a helmet, gives far more protection against flying stones and stops rain from stinging so much!

Re: Insurance... again
In that case get BOTB to pay the UK VAT (as they would if delivered to an UK winner) and then you pay the Danish 25% VAT on import then YOU reclaim the UK 20% VAT yourself as the vehicle has been exported which will eventually leave you only 5% out of pocket! But then again surely BOTB should pay th...

Re: Insurance... again
Forget picking it up personally in the UK just get it delivered directly to your address in Denmark by BOTB then the only duties and taxes you should need to pay are Danish - which you appear to have already budgeted for! Let BOTB do all the paperwork heavy lifting as they should be able to export i...

Re: Insurance... again
Something else occurs to me :
Do I understand that you won it on BOTB?
If so don't they deliver it as a package to your home address wherever you live with all the local taxes and expenses paid?

Re: Insurance... again
As you are permanently exporting it you should be able to reclaim the UK VAT from HMRC at your point of exportation - you should be able to download all the required documentation from the HMRC website. If you aren't going to register it in the UK it might be possible for Ariel to supply it VAT free...

Re: Insurance... again
I have been exploring the possibility of purchasing a Tesla X from their EU export centre in Rotterdam and then driving it across Europe to Athens then by RoRo to Cyprus (currently there isn't a Tesla dealer in Cyprus). Tesla, according to their literature, offer a 'temporary' registration and insur...

Re: Cat S 3.5 on YouTube
Was this the Atom that featured in the YouTube videos being 'repaired' that featured the frame (tubes) damage being 'knocked' out and filled? If it is, dare I say, the rather amateurishly repaired Atom featured on YouTube and also as this is actually a registered Cat S (written off then repaired) ve...

Re: Insurance... again
Another way to go would be to rent/borrow a car trailer (assuming you have access to a car/van with a towbar) drive to the UK and collect your new Atom and then return to Denmark towing it behind you! You could always plan your return route to Denmark via a motor circuit or two so you could do a few...
