Re: Atom 3.5r Geometry and Alignment Setups
I only work with 4s, but was quite interested to know if there's much if any difference in the factory recommended settings for 3.5 and 4. On the 4 we've not settled on -1mm total toe out on the front, +4mm total toe in on the rear, -2deg front camber and -2.5deg rear camber. Would anyone else care ...

Re: Atom 3.5r Geometry and Alignment Setups
What are the factory recommended settings on the 3.5? What's recommended on the 4 is actually pretty much spot on. But don't just assume that what's on your car right now will be as per factory specs. On some cars the alignment will go out of spec even after one track day. We have ours checked, and ...

Re: Fuel and temp gauge
A routine running temp in the range of 82-88 sounds spot on to me.

Re: The curious case of the Atom 4 brakes
Yep, totally as is Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Well it seems you should count yourself lucky. There's never been anything fundamentally wrong with the way the standard AP setup works (as in stopping the car), but quite a number of owners found the pedal feel and travel to be not to their lik...

Re: The curious case of the Atom 4 brakes
Afternoon all, I find this a really interesting thread. I’d say I’m an intermediate driver with a few track days under my belt. I’m now in to my third year owning the Atom 4 with the standard AP’S (not 2 piece). I went out for a spin for the first time this year, amazing to be out again and not too...

Re: Replacement engine mounts for ATOM 3.
Some work is being done on 4s to try to overcome premature wear of the OE predominantly rubber mounts. Basically this entails the addition of a pair of lateral struts that each incorporate a damper unit. Testing thus far has been very encouraging, especially as it seems to provide a reduction in the...

Re: My Atom 4 Journey
Chris's car has consistently been run on factory (track) damper settings. Cambers at -2 all round seems to be ok, although I think we've tried a bit more at the rear. But what it seems most sensitive to is toe settings in order to keep the rear from being too lively. I think we're currently at a smi...

Re: The curious case of the Atom 4 brakes
I agree with reg that a line can now be drawn under the regular AP calipers that Ariel in their wisdom chose for the Atom 4. But only once anti-knockback springs have been fitted. The original reason for trying out different master cylinder sizes came prior to the realisation that springs were the a...

Re: The curious case of the Atom 4 brakes
Hi Reg Good account on whats happening with your braking set up, im due to just have the springs fitted to mine in a few weeks but now im wondering if my might get the same issues on track when im next out a few weeks later! Last thing anyone wants is lock up and loss of confidence in the car, how ...

Re: Other brake options for Atom 4
A further thought - if you did want to go down the upgrade route from standard to APs your would also need to consider what to do re the handbrake. As I'm sure you're aware, the mechanical handbrake mechanism is built in to the standard rear calipers (as on lots of modern cars), but cars with the AP...

Re: My Atom 4 Journey
It's really interesting to look back on the first part of Chris's Atom 4 journey through to the end of 2021, but boy o boy does it pale into relative insignificance compared with what transpired in 2022!

Re: Other brake options for Atom 4
There are two people on the Forum currently offering their existing AP kits for sale - reg and Yorkshire, and I'm pretty sure both have posted in the For Sale section. You might like to check them out. I believe they are both opting to switch to an alternative brake package being offered by Corten-M...

Re: Atom 4. Oil Temperature?
A very quick chime in for me here! The dash is locked because the program is COMPLETELY different to 'normal' AiM programs. it has all sorts of different protocols and equations in it, to get it displaying correctly. So much so that any sort of change is pretty much a re-write of the whole program....

Re: Atom 4. Oil Temperature?
What I was thinking, if the tacho says 5 miles per hour higher than reality, doesnt the mileage go up to fast as well? With an average of 40 mph it is 10+% This is a screenshot of the five different "speed" items (there are also e further wheel speed sensor values) taken from the AIM dash...
