Re: A4 vs earlier models. Newbie questions.

Speak to Ben at the factory. See what the lead time is currently for a new one, some pretty well priced 2nd hand ones but also some over priced ones. Be careful and also don't go by current price list. Prices have just gone up this year so make sure you reflect this in what you buy. You wont be dis...

Re: A4 vs earlier models. Newbie questions.

I have owned both. If your budget stretches far enough buy a 4. Massive jump forward. Main reasons for big improvements are:- Different setup on suspension with anti dive points, larger wheels, thicker frame therefore much stiffer, large jump in torque due to turbo engine. The 4 is a lot more comfo...

Re: A4 options list. Must haves? Can I add later?

All of the options at build can be added later, but usually cost a bit more, as at build the cost of the standard part offsets it a little and due to the additional labour to retrofit things. Certain items are labour intensive to fit after build and therefore expensive i.e. baffled sump, which if y...

Re: A4 options list. Must haves? Can I add later?

If your budget allows:- AP brakes Power upgrade (Easy to add after but slightly more expensive if it is afterwards) T/C and Boost are well worth it Go for the best suspension your budget allows. MDS Bilstein were excellent on my previous 4 but my new one is having Ohlims so really down to your budg...

markwetherall wrote: Wed Apr 05, 2023 9:42 am It depends on how you plan to use the car. If it is on track then brakes, power upgrade and Traction control. Best thing to do is work out what you plan to use it for.
I'd say 80% road, 20% track.

A4 options list. Must haves? Can I add later?

Is there a list of what people consider the bare minimum must have options on a new A4?

Are there options that cannot reasonably be retro fitted without spending vast amounts more than the original option cost?

A4 vs earlier models. Newbie questions.

Not driven any Atom's yet, but I read that the Atom 4 is a big improvement in handling on the earlier cars. "The Atom now does corners" etc etc. What is this improvement down to? Stiffer chassis/frame, better geometry, combination of lots of things? Are these improvments really that obviou...

Re: Hello!

If you can let us know your budget, that will help as the advice will vary depending on model and spec. It's a tough one. Given that re-sale values are so strong, I should always be able to recoup most of what I pay, if I decide to sell at a later date, I can be fairly flexible on budget. Is the wa...

Hello!

Hi All,

Always lusted after an Atom, so having sold a military vehicle, I hope to be able to start looking into buying one at last!

So first up, is there a buyers guide FAQ on here?

I'd love a mk 4 but my budget means I will have to go for an older model.

Cheers!
