So, I've exchanged some emails with the ever so helpful Matt from Ariel.
My Ariel is missing the immobilizer, I've always wondered what the two bolts are used for.

So I went ahead and ordered the immobiliser unit.

OK, if I would have read everything from the owners handbook I could have known about the 245 and 275 HP Atoms. It states so on the page about the battery box.

my Ariel uses the Honda K20A2, normally aspirated, unfortunately it uses the MBE ECU. So, from what I understand, I can't get any diagnostics data out of the system.
