Re: White spots on panels and seats ??

Likely calcium deposits from water spots, carcoon dried the air, moisture goes, calcium remains as a crust. But hard to be 100% without seeing. Matt plastics retain the deposits more than gloss, same as grease and other stuff Used a water spot remover like Gtechniq W9 (https://www.theultimatefinish....

Re: Manual V Sequential

Would love to try the seq box just to try it, I have no doubt its 'better' I'm just happy with the manual for interaction at this stage - spent a few months without a manual car and god I missed it!

Re: Now actually an owner

Congrats! Is this Simon's old car? I know he'd made some really good changes to the car so it sounds like you've taken a very good car and made it even better. There are a few of us on here that have come from the K20 Elise/Exige platform... I suppose it's a logical progression in insanity  ...

Re: Now actually an owner

Nice car, congrats! Definitely interested in a build thread personally, think it's very interesting. Also be good to hear how you find it vs the Exige platform (s3 you had?). Apologies in advance for the really really long answer! Quite a few over the years, I had an S1 Exige (VHPD), S1 Exige (SC H...

Re: Now actually an owner

Hi Yes used to have an Elise with a K20 on ITBs, got the Atom just in time for winter last October… That is very neatly done, like the camera on button idea in particular 👍 I’d be interested in more detail - is your wheel removable? Cheers Rob I know K20's on the Elise well, have had a few and have...

Re: Now actually an owner

Hello Saw your car on Instagram - very smart. How did you attach your GoPro? Looks like it is attached to the plastic panel but I though that was a bit flimsy? I’d be interested to see what you’ve done on heat management and also the steering wheel controls. Cheers Rob Cheers! Are you the RobFitz o...

Re: Polishing exhaust

A bit of a follow up on this which may be of help, polish factory exhaust: Here's the kit I used - of course use what you want, its just polishing stainless, pretty simple to do with a bit of time, I left wire wool out you know what it is :) https://i.imgur.com/siZBHsj.jpg I did a test section of (l...

Now actually an owner

Hi folks - following on from my previous wanted ad, just thought I'd add a proper hello now I am all set up with ownership In Cheshire with an Atom 4, I didn't want to wait really so went used and picked up one that was fairly close to the spec I had in mind. Car was bought in Dec and has spent the ...

Re: Atom 4 first drive

The servo on the Exige means there is much more assistance and the master cylinder is different. Completely agree however that the 410/20/30 platform were a cracking brakes (ex owner here), by comparison the feel is significantly up on the Atom, far closer to an S1 I agree the pedal is long, however...

Re: First timer insurance

I went with classicline. A plan were fine, but not the cheapest. REIS were a bit useless but it think that was the chap I spoke to who was clueless and I couldn’t be bothered with (they’ve insured me for years, but seem to be going downhill)

Re: rake adjustment for traction

Spec as a comparison between cars doesn't really help to be honest. Adding positive rake has three effects as a general rule: 1 - Moving weight - the level of weight you can move is negligible so largely irrelevant but you would be corner weighting your car to get anything meaningful out of this 2 -...

Yep so much better than the A4 fixed graphics 👍, shame as the MXSL can be nicely configured in vanilla setup

Re: Moving from Atomic to Nomadic?

Was lucky enough to be working in Cornwall last year and it led to me wanting a Nomad - just felt it would be much better in avoiding the tourists, it just made sense so totally get your feeling. Unfortunately when I got back home they seemed to make less sense, as I could use an Atom properly in N ...

Re: Cat S 3.5 on YouTube

I personally find it (the repair) interesting, at complete odds with how I would repair a car, but interesting nonethelessless I know I am new here, and probably shouldn't say but I don't get why this is causing so much agro - its a repair done in the public domain with full transparency, and it is ...

Re: Atom 4 puncture repair kit

What’s strange is that they fit the smallest size which is only good enough for 14” tyres, despite running a larger combo of tyres
You can fit the medium and large cans if you mount them the other side of the cubby hole. Just fit with two black terry clips like the factory
