I had the exact same issue! Replaced the clutch master cylinder.

I was considering this, the handbrake can be annoying in my 3S. I have thought of an electric handbrake actuator. A simple switch and the whole lever assembly could be removed. There are a number of them on the market, but I have done no research yet.
