Re: ABS on an Atom
Speed sensors would most likely be directly in the wheel bearings, so you would only see a VR or hall sensor around.

Re: ABS on an Atom
Yep the classic BMW Teves unit, unfortunately it is not really known to cope very well with split size wheel diameters.
Not sure about the circumference difference on the Atom 4

Re: Gear shifting gate mechanism
Indeed, afaik Atom 1 and 2 have the same MG gear selector anyway. Maybe that's why he does not know about Atom 1

Re: JRSC belt path
the mercracing tensioner is definitely the right way to do it. For the "easy" idler removal, hundreds of Elises are running this way, but tbh it's difficult to find right belts and it may lead inadequate stress on the SC itself (as the auto tensionner pulls directly on it and not on an idl...

Re: Water temperature
waterless are supposed to be less efficient, but deal better with air locks and boiling point, in a way that you can run safely high temperatures (120+) with it.
But that would need mapping changes in safety maps to make sense

Using Sikolene Pro CCA Ultra (or Mocool) with distilled water is supposedly up to 20% better on heat transfer

Re: Water temperature
On my Atom 2 I have (I think) a sensor on top of the water outlet and one inline on the hose that heads from it to the rad. Arrows on pic - please excuse the condition of the engine it was pre the xmas refurb Upping this, as said on next post, on earlier Hondas the fan seems to be controlled by a s...

Re: JRSC belt path
You can remove the idler pulley, but be warned, belts are complicated to find.
I am now running a 2.9" Mercracing pulley, good size belt is a 7PK1196. No idea if there is an adequate belt for the stock pulley

Re: Side Pods A3
If it goes in place of the second radiator (horizontal one) I'll be surprised it would be that effective with all the heat coming from the main water radiator just centimeters away. Maybe trying to diverting the airflow should work. As far as I understand, that is the exact set-up on the Nomad R. N...

Re: Side Pods A3
Henry posted on another earlier thread :- "I will also say  If you are interested, we do do a 'stealth' charge cool kit (so no side pods) fits up front where the 'hot country radiator' goes. good for about 30-35bhp on a blown K24." If it goes in place of the second radiator (horizo...
