Re: The Atom Video Thread - Post links to Atom videos here

I use the GoPro rollbar mount - it doesn't fit perfectly, but it seems to work ok. In my opinion, the rollbar mount is too high - it doesn't allow a view of the dash or what's going on by the pedals. You do get a nice view of the circuit, though! I might try using the sticky mount on the panel under...

Re: Ariel Club Calendar 2023

Hi - would love a calendar again this year. Postage would be to Denmark. Unfortunately when it arrives I will have to pay EU/Denmark customs scalping fees, UNLESS.. you put the customs value at £0. That doesn't seem entirely disingenuous. Oh no - international bank transfer? No Paypal or similar? Or...

I believe you're right, Charlie, th... Wouldn't you know the factory reached out by email? :tu: So on a trackday in a new Atom 4 with under 500 km on it - I do need to watch the clutch and brakes - both of them have to wear-in over time with varied driving styles. I can feel that the clutch still n...

Re: Collection and overnight freight

Great story! I admired your car during my recent factory visit - looks amazing. Enjoy! Thanks! My build makes a short cameo appearance in the TG Ariel P-40 Hipercar review video recently. At least I noticed it in the back of the works assembly hall. Haha I'm like, "Move that million pound jet ...

Re: Dream Car

I believe you're right, Charlie, the handbook agrees! I've been driving around a little, so I could change the oil now. I've had a think about this - I would normally always follow factory recommendations, but I don't think the risk is all that great that I break anything. You could definitely argue...

Re: Dream Car

Yes! That's mine. Thanks - I hadn't seen the video. I made a post about my new Atom last week here: https://ariel.club/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=18776 I have my first trackday coming up in 2 weeks. Really looking forward to that. Other than one more quick street ride on sticky-type temporary Dan...

Collection and overnight freight

Big day finally arrived! Copenhagen to Crewkerne in one go with a huge decrepit trailer. Met Ben and was offered a cup. From then he took me through many, many aspects of the Atom. Received the "Handbook" (mind you it's not a manual) and all the bits. Shortly after, a 20 minute jaunt on th...

Re: Insurance... again

Forget picking it up personally in the UK just get it delivered directly to your address in Denmark by BOTB then the only duties and taxes you should need to pay are Danish - which you appear to have already budgeted for! Let BOTB do all the paperwork heavy lifting as they should be able to export ...

Re: Insurance... again

Yes BOTB, and yes delivered, but all duties and taxes are on me :-[ Apologize for the drama but I'm trying to figure out my next move. I do so want the Atom. Three years of torturous waiting and all the uncountable hours researching practical information, communicating with the factory, communicatin...

Re: Insurance... again

Maybe insurance is the least of my problems. It just occurred to me that I will have to pay 25% VAT on the car again when it arrives in EU, after having paid 20% VAT in the UK. That is an unexpected cost of more than £15000, which is especially tragic considering that I could have imported it for fr...

Re: Insurance... again

Arg... damn. Back to zero. Disappointing that I can't go the short-term plates route. I thought I had it! Any insurance-wise people willing to chime in? The tragic thing is that I won the first year's insurance through BOTB. It'd be a crying shame not to take advantage of that. Basically the cost is...
