Re: Insurance... again

Amazing - thanks for the suggestion. Can anyone confirm that these German kurtzzeitkennzeichen (short term plates) also are legal to drive with in UK? Couldn't find that anywhere...

Re: Insurance... again

Why can’t you just insure it in Denmark and ask for additional cover to drive it in another country for a couple of days? You would likely need to register it in Denmark and have Danish plates fitted. Thanks for the suggestions, but these are the walls I run into: - I can't insure a car in Denmark ...

Insurance... again

Hi good people I'm having trouble finding UK insurance for my new Atom 4. The problem is I don't live in the UK, and therefore none of the UK insurers on the club list here will even give me a quotation. My hope is to drive my Atom the nearly 1000 miles back home Crewkerne - Denmark, but no insuranc...

Re: Ariel bank details

Yes, I have searched the invoice. No dice. I assumed people here were to be trusted, but you're right.

Ariel bank details

Hi! Apparently we are in a UK bank holiday right now, but I need to make an international transfer to Ariel so my build can start.

Could anyone on here kindly send me Ariel's bank details (IBAN and SWIFT/BIC) please?

Thanks!

Re: Patience

Residents of Denmark aren't allowed to drive in foreign registered cars. Even if I rent a car in Sweden I'm not allowed to drive it in Denmark. Crazy, right? Might be one of the worst countries for Atom ownership, and one of the few countries in Europe where you can't register it at all. I'm still h...

Re: Patience

Preseh I'm really fascinated by the number plate system in UK - I don't think we are allowed to sell ours which may defuse any attempts at speculating. Or maybe reg-squatting is a better term. Sledgehammer I would love to drive that route in my Atom someday, but...

Fun stuff to do while you're waiting for your "Four": 1) Go for a ride in someone else's Atom. I was at an event this weekend where I got two fast airport laps in a 3 with a very competent driver leaning into it. Hilarious! What a riot and I can't wait until it's me bashing out laps. 2) Sp...

Re: Daily Driver

Unfortunately, I won't be able to register my Atom 4 in  Denmark, so it'll be a trailer toy until the rules change. So for towing purposes I recently bought a 2016 Passat Alltrack, 2.0 TDi with 190 diesel ponies and the DSG box. It's got AWD and is a little bit higher than the standard Passat. ...

Re: Dream Car

If this works you will have some money saved to tick all the great boxes in the spec sheet. ;) There were two Atom 4 technically approved with TÜV acceptance test recently which are now road legal in Germany. Would you perhaps be allowed to at least store the Atom at your home with external registr...

Re: Dream Car

Welcome to the club I also won an Ariel Atom 4 on BOTB back in Nov 2018 I was told I was on the waiting list and it would be 2 years but with lockdown I presume that has been pushed back as I still haven’t heard about my build status anyway nice to hear someone else had the same luck as me. WOW How...

Re: Dream Car

I read a report, that people from Denmark have the car registered and located in Germany through a special company, which saves the additional tax. However the report also states, that somebody from Denmark would not be allowed to drive a car in Denmark with external registration.(?) Perhaps an opt...

Re: Dream Car

European Small Series Type Approval - it means the car can be registered in any EU state. I understand it's not completely dead yet, but not the priority of the factory at the moment. They're probably struggling with covid restrictions and supply chain irks enough as it is. Very important for mainla...

Appreciate the advice. Will definitely do that.
