Yeh Steve was in his at Castle with me, when I tailed him, I had no issues with heating, but once I was pushing hard, it definitely struggles. What were you lapping at Donington? I’ve not been there in the R but did take my RS on a few months back.

Oh, it was frocking amazing when it did work, the Sadev box, and Ohlins!!! Oh my. 77 seconds in Nomad, and certainly more to come, if I can sort cooking/cooling!!

I’ve never had any issues with my 3.5R, however I’d did one Castle Combe day in my Nomad R, and had heating problems. Warning lights, couldn’t manage two consecutive flying laps. Real shame!

It still works out a lot of money, it’s a shame Ariel don’t have a double trailer, transporter. Then maybe we could organise two cars in and two cars out……. It may make it more doable?

I have made upgraded 7 french Atom to 350hp at the factory some years ago, some with 3 châssis and some with 3.5 chassis upgrade. All manual. Several with Ohlins. My own definition of a real 3.5R is 350hp, Alcon all round, Ohlins and Sadev. Aerofoils optionnal. Others, manual ones, are just Atom 3 ...

All I know is I had a conversation last year with Henry, and he said approx 12, of which approx 50% were Sadev

I may still take my car back to the factory for the Sadev upgrade, chassis repaint etc

I’ll spend more time in the Nomad R, just to make sure. The box transforms the car, but not all for the better, but different

The manual box suits the 3.5R IMO

Nope, Henry told me approx 12 in TOTAL, he estimated 50% with the box. So half a dozen or so.

Mines manual, and is definitely classed as a 3.5R.

Going back to the original question then, a true factory built 3.5R, used, £70k OR an Atom 4 for £70k?
