Re: To PPF or not

Thanks Steve, that is the conclusion I have come to. There is no need to do the whole of the Atom with PPF as it doesn't really get the abuse with the exceptions of the areas you have mentioned.. That will save a fortune as I have had a couple more quotes around the 3k mark. Silly money, its nearly ...

To PPF or not

i am looking at the possible benefits of getting the 4 ( due early 2021) a full rap in PPF including wings. Firstly, is it worth it as there have been comments in previous posts regarding insurance companies having a problem with PPF whether declared or not. Secondly, the 4 will spend 70% of its lif...

Re: Part for help for new owners / part sharing my excitement

Wow, that's quick build time, paid my 2nd payment 2 weeks ago and Tom estimated between 16 and 26 weeks. Hope you enjoy your new baby when you collect her next week.

Re: Part for help for new owners / part sharing my excitement

Couple of hot water bottles tucked in the seat, go for it if the weather looks ok. Only thing I would consider is, if the gritters have been out, they have around me in Lincolnshire. Give it a really good wash down when you get home. I don't think its been that cold in Somerset yet, but check. Alloy...

Re: Acf 50 rust preventer

ACF50 is excellent, I have used it for years on everything from cars, trailers, gate controls, and lots of other items. Can safety be used on circuit boards battery terminals, the list is endless.. It will also stop items that have some rust from deteriorating further. Not cheap but I think its bett...

Re: Atom 4 - Build and Collection

Yes its was Svens colour scheme that persuaded me. I did fancy a white frame but felt the cost too high.

Tom never mentioned the possible insurance problem without a tracker, I will check tomorrow and might have to get it added after delivery.

Re: Atom 4 - Build and Collection

After just over two years of waiting (Ordered Oct 5th), had an email on Friday from Tom inviting me to spec the car. Spec has now been locked in and money sent, and here's what I've gone for: https://i.ibb.co/ZfKqBqv/aa4-final-spec.jpg A common theme on here - the spec started off significantly che...

Re: Part for help for new owners / part sharing my excitement

Probably not a slow down, I think that they might be trying to get infront with stock due to possible supply problems with Brexit and the xmas shutdown and any covid implications. Just a guess. You ordered on the 8th October 2018 and I ordered on the 16th October 2018 so you will more than likely be...

Sequential V Manual.

Just getting closer to final spec and I am really torn between Manual and Sequential gearbox. Sequential is a fair chunk of money, especially as it appears there is no warranty on it whether used on track or road. I am planning to mainly use the 4 on track, so probably 70% track 30% road. I would re...

Re: EVs don't suit everyone.

Wasn't there talk of a wireless charging facility with the charging point in the roads. If memory servers me right, I think Sheffield were trialing this technology with some of the taxis ranks in the city.

That would solve the problem with on street parking.

Re: Carcoon for the Atom

Simon, I went for the Small, it was initially for an MX5 and works perfectly. I have never put the car in wet but certainly damp.. If the car goes in damp, I just pop in a dehumidifier that is piped outside to get rid of the water for a day or two. The carbon filters reduce the air entering the cham...

Re: Carcoon for the Atom

I have had one for a few years. It keeps the humidity level quite low and so avoids condensation when the temperature drops. I am similar to you with a lot of trees 🌳 around me and it does its job. Costs pennies to run a day. I change the filters each year. Get the framed version as the other is a p...
