Re: AAOC Christmas Party – Saturday 26th November 2011

Wasn't an owner until end of September!  And if you play golf you will appreciate that dates get booked up fast!

Next year is already reserved for AAOC

Cheers

Re: Castrol Magnatec 10W-40 at Halfords

I bet oil has been discussed a great deal on here, but as a newbie - Castrol Magnatec 10W-40 is a semi synthetic, would a fully synthetic be better like the Castrol Magnetec 5w-30??  Just asking...

Roll on spring, or failing that, a dry day!

Is it an idea to have the mud guard stays modified to allow removal??

I was thinking of modifying the stays to have the bolt holes 'open'.  I could then slip the mud guards on and off for maintenance/repair sooo much easier - is there a down side??  Car will be in for rod ends soon and that would be an ideal time to do it.

Re: Near side rear kerbed...

They say a picture paints a thousand words, so here are 2.  They show the highest point in two planes, in thou.  I left a wheel nut to to show reference.  Is it possible that the bearings have moved in the upright I wonder?  Haven't got a socket that fits the hub nut so can't go any deeper today.  F...

Re: Near side rear kerbed...

Yep dial tester already set up.  But it will have to wait until after the Indian GP :)  I can already see there is run-out at the hub, but it looked a strong component so I wondered if it was someting further back, not that there is much further back! Enjoy the race - A win for Jenson!? [quote="...

Re: Near side rear kerbed...

Thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated. "Otherwise surely the wheel would rotate true, it would just be rotating in the wrong plane" [/quote] That's exactly the thing I can't 'see' either....can it really have bent the drive shaft?! Is it possible the bearings/flange are out of squa...

Near side rear kerbed...

My son got on the power a little too soon and the back end stepped out.  He corrected that but then hit the kerb NSR.  That wheel now has a run-out of around 3mm and gives what looks like a buckled wheel.  However the wheel is not buckled (tried another wheel on it).  Taking the wheel off does not s...
