Great weekend at Kop Hill. In total I managed four goes up the hill, two on each day. The weather was supposed to be better on the Sunday but it ended up the other way around. I had a marshal passenger on the first run, he made a donation to charity so that was perfect. Every run I tried to get a passenger to do the same as it fits in with the spirit of the event.
Phil was on hand to take a video of the first run. The photographer asked me if we could do some showboating off the line as everyone was setting off on launch control, the crowd were growing restless. I guess this clip answers the question of how the sports exhaust sounds

The next run was a bit quicker, was conscious not to upset the guys as one stupid mistake would stuff the day up for everyone. It was all well within limits. We returned on Sunday and the weather was very murky, cold and it was very slippery. The first run was mega slippy, mud, straw and crap everywhere. It's not my preference but the V70's soon let you know when the grip is going. On the line I gave up warming the mud up in the end, although it did make some very pretty patterns on the tub
The last one on Sunday was good. It was wet in the trees still but all good fun, the view from the Aston behind;

The crowd were awesome the whole event, loads of interest in the car and various kids jumping in for pictures. It is a very serious event these days and the range of cars displayed is truly spectacular. BMW, Porsche, Mercedes all turned up again with their decent kit, watching muddy boots in and out of the cream interiors made the rain bearable for me. Triumph had a decent stand as well, had a chat to them and they said they'd sold a couple off of the stand, covered the costs and got some good leads. There was an Aston going up, sponsored by the RAF or something, they sold every ride up, hopefully this will guilt Stratstone Aston into coming next year.
The organisers were brilliant and have asked if the Atom is going again next year, I hope so. The favourite car of the day, as voted for was a Bentley Blower. However, I was reliably informed the Atom was the one that made everyone smile the most
Lastly, good to see those that ventured out. Shame about the weather on Sunday but meh. If any of the organisers read this then good on you for letting me in this year, I think it was a success...apart from the tyre bill
