I might advise first off - to disconnect the gauges etc you have added, and see if the lamp + immobiliser works normally without the extras.
HenryJS thx for answering.

The oil pressure and oil temp gauges I had added have their own wiring totally extra from the Atom wiring.

As a reminder, the immobiliser itself works 100%.
I had not found the problem but I had found a dirty solution. I had cut both wires from the immobiliser lamp. :-[
Next winter season I will connect an extra LED-lamp near the immobiliser unit - so I can check if there is a broken cable at the loom.

If you describe something as duff, you mean it is useless, broken, or of poor quality.
Thank you for the explanation.

My English is not as well that I could explain the problem on the phone. :'(

Really that is not a problem. Every winter I fiddled out the battery and put the battery in my office or in the basement.
Atlarge wrote: Wed Mar 31, 2021 6:45 pm Failing that, it may have just gone duff, have you asked the factory if they have any advice?
I can't translate "duff".
No, I have not ask. HenryJS always reads the forum, so I'm sure he already knows my problem.

I like to repeat it again - I have no problem with function of the imobiliser. The car runs perfectly. Only the imobiliser LED has a malfunction.

Only one bundled wiring harness comes out of the immobiliser unit. These black cables end in a plug with many connections. There is also a small cable lug that is for the antenna. This big connector is then in turn plugged into a connector in the car wiring harness.
I have not changed anything here at all.

Look at your install instruction you can see the red LED with two little wires. I think here is the problem with this two wires or inside the unit.

one last thought... when you cleaned up the wiring did you combine the earths from the immobiliser ? Not sure why it makes a difference but the alarm install instructions mention it should be a separate earth (two earth wires) and not both combined to a single point.

That's correct.
I had showed in my first post in this thread.I had marked with a red coloured frame.

Not sure about that - There's a different light for the Handbrake and the Immobiliser ..

Handbrake light is top, left
Immobiliser light is bottom left, next to Ignition.

I think that in my old analogue SPA dash the immobiliser light (after the car was energised and the ignition active) also acted as the handbrake 'on' warning light - the problem in my case was with the handbrake microswitch (in the handbrake assembly itself) which needed to be lubricated and adjusted!

When my Atom was upgraded to be a 3.5R I changed to the digital dash - this was over 3 years ago now so my memory of exactly which light was involved may be wrong?

Good Morning John,

sure I had done.
This winter I had done a really, really big maintenance - started End of September but still not finished. 5 years in my ownership and 50000 on the clock with hard use in wind and bad weather I have renewed and improved a lot to make my Atom even better.
First engine run was on last Saturday. Removed all air bubbles from the cooling system yesterday . Now I have to do the setup on all four corners and corner weight to get ready to rumble. :vroom:

Every winter the battery is "sleeping" in my warm office. :D
This winter maintenance I disconnect the SPA-dash from the wiring harness.
Adding some gauges, adding some wiring and fuses at the fuse department.
From the immobiliser I had all connectors removed for clean cable routing AND reconnect all of them again.
I have wiring information etc but don’t want to post on a public site .. I can see if I can PM it for you.
I will be happy if you send me a PM.
Maybe it will help and get me further in solving the problem with the burning lamp.

Two earth wires??
John Scherrer wrote: Mon Mar 29, 2021 10:02 pm but I understand that all the wires are coloured black but they had coloured sleeves on each wire to identify how to install the unit. In theory, the installer (Ariel build engineer) should remove the coloured sleeves on installation to make it more difficult to bypass or hotwire - not sure if Ariel do remove the coloured sleeves?
No sleeves on my wires. :'( O0

I do not understand how the immobilser lamp work. Anybody who know that?
