I know a lot has been written about the best settings for these ‘very trick’ dampers, but to be honest, a lot of it is very confusing.
The factory TTX damper settings for the 3.5R
are recorded as:
20 clicks off full hard for compression (gold) and 15 click off full hard for rebound (black)
I know Sir Nick (and I) find this to be too likely to create a wallow-tactic queasy ride over undulating surfaces, so tend to run the the rebound a little firmer.
On a dry track the factory settings 8 comp / 15 rebound work really well, but I’m searching for the optimal road setting for B road blasts.
Last weekend I had to lift as I followed a 4 down the road and the Atom behind me reported seeing my car deflected by the bumps. I know the 4 has a better designed platform, but I am sure there is more to come from in terms of ride control from the Ohlins on my 3.5R.
