It was one of the standard options .. used for powering heated clothing
(2 sockets for driver & passenger)

12v Auxillary feed with BMW socket

Here it was on my car behind the gear lever ..

You'd best off having a look behind the seats. Could be power for heated jackets etc, could be intercom. Defo not standard fit.

Looks like a pair of DIN flip-top sockets typically used for heated jackets and the like - I had one on mine
