Yes - That's the "Fire Handle" and it isn't removable.
There's also another on the dash for the driver's use ..

However, there's a substantial 'safety' pin fitted to the cable mechanism at the bottle valve that needs removing before it can be invoked.

Please tell me that the other red lever doesn't set the fire extinguisher off ?

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what it does do.  And so on the "anti-fiddle" side of things, wonder if the key is removable also?

Spookily I've just reinstalled my master this morning. As always, John is spot on. The master should cut all power to all systems. I've wired mine for easy trickle charging so I do have a live connector for the charger even when master is off. I carry a spare red key under the bonnet just in case

I've always had one. Very handy for a car that's used infrequently. Not one flat battery, as far as I can remember.

All factory default data and your own Atom custom-programmed data is held in an EEPROM chip inside the unit that retains its memory for years.

All user data is reprogrammable but you won't be able to mess with the total mileage.

The cut-off switch will prevent you leaving stuff on and draining the battery (bad news with gel batteries). It's also a fiddle-prevention device - you won't retun to find some idiot has been pressing your ignition/lights switches - and of course it'dan additional security device.

I have a manual in .PDF format if anyone would like one ..

Clearly you don't lose the odometer when you turn the battery master switch off, but is the dash left connected to the car battery in some way, or does it have its own backup battery for use when the main car battery is disconnected.

Is the battery master switch a very useful option for a (mainly) road rather than track car ?

I guess it stops the ignition or lights being turned on, but you have to carry the clumsy key around in your pocket ?

If the odometer was ever lost, can it be re-set manually ?

Thanks
