Can a moderator please add the word CANCELLED to the title of this thread please?  For some strange reason I don't seem to be able to modify it?

Done.

Those that are looking for something else to do should provide a decent fix of Atom action.

I'm really sorry all but I'm going to have to cancel this as we just don't have enough numbers.

It was the only date I could get from the Cricket Club and it seems to be the date that everyone is on holiday!!

Apologies to all - we'll try and get a better date for next year; maybe around the same sort of time as Atom X last year as that seemed to work pretty well.

Tom,

What options have you got on offer for camping?

OK all......it's getting close to the time for this so we need to get numbers confirmed etc.

Details are as follows:

Saturday 30th July there will be an all-day road trip taking in the best of the sights of Somerset, Dorset, Devon and possibly a bit of Cornwall!  I'm planning about 250 miles with a nice leisurely lunch somewhere in between.

In the evening we will have a meal at Haselbury Mill which i'm sure a few of you have been to; Minnie (the owner) has put aside the Millers bar for us to have a drink and the Loft for us to have a meal together.  Depending on numbers there maybe a menu to pre-order from; if there aren't that many we can just order normally from the menu.

There are various places available to stay over on the Saturday night if you wish - give these a try:

Haselbury Mill http://www.haselburymill.co.uk/ 01460 77095 - right behind the factory
Lower Severalls B&B http://www.lowerseveralls.co.uk/index.php/accommodation - also right behind the factory
Lanes Hotel http://www.laneshotel.net/ 01935 862555 - around 5 miles away
Oxbridge Farm http://www.oxbridgefarm.co.uk/ 01308 488368 - around 8 miles away, not suitable for trailers
Premier Inn Yeovil http://www.premierinn.com/en/hotel/YEOAIR/yeovil - around 8 miles away

If you struggle with any of these please let me know and I can find more.  If people want to camp we can probably work something out on that too.....

Obviously these could also be used for Sunday night if you need to.

The gates will open at North Perrott Cricket Club around 12 noon on Sunday and the bar will be fully stocked and open all day.  There will be a BBQ run by the same guys who did the food at Atom X (very nice indeed) and at least one Cricket match through the afternoon.  Wives and kids are welcomed - in fact encouraged - we really want to make this into a great family day out.  There are nets that the kids can use to play as well - if we get enough they could even have their own game!!

Tickets will be circa £20-£25 for the day which will purely be used to cover the costs of the BBQ......

So we've got this list; who else is keen?

Is there an official attendance list for this? I'm up for this weekend. As it happens I'm also a cricket god, cricket is kinda like rounders yeah?...  ;D

count us as possibles - my missus likes the prospect of walloping a couple of balls....The road trip sounds cool too.

As a Scotsman, cricket is a strange English custom I've never understood.....mainly because Scotland is always wet and a game can't be concluded in 30mins between showers.

Can I suggest you check the weather forecast before starting, declare the game a draw at the outset (as it will invariably rain at some point during the game causing postponement) and instead go to the pub - thus avoiding the 4-5 hours of boring nonsence in the middle  ;D

After the pub maybe you could set fire to the beermats and arrange to play for the ashes in a years time when global warming may have set in.

Enjoy, Cheers Wattie  ;)

i bloomin hate cricket but ive no doubt i will be smashing the ball for six and enjoying every minute. besides that, sunshine, atoms and a bbq sounds like a fantastic day out.

Dawsey - I used to turn my arm over a bit too......  Sounds like we've got one a side sorted then!  Hedge leads me to believe that he is a half reasonable bat too - time will tell  ;D
Hedge - Title modified to show - bear with me I'm new to this  :)
I did link it to the calender though - aren't I a good boy!

Better make sure you bring your helmet if you're gonna bat against me old son - the wicket's got a lovely bit of lift in it  ;D
