Useful info thanks Rob. Bedford's a darn sight closer for me too than the factory

The Bedford option would get my vote.
Until recently I worked with an instructor at Bedford who assured me the mechanics would look after mine.
It was also implied that Ariel may licence/subcontract, or whatever, Atom servicing - but I can't vouch for that.

Rob.

and CPL seem to be quite knowledgeable. Anyone any experience of them?

The factory did a few sessions along similar lines at Atom X, perhaps they could be persuaded.

Or alternatively I wonder if the people who look after the Atoms at Bedford would be keen.

Revivals like this make me realise quite how long I've had an Atom - and a passion for the club!

This isn't difficult to set up as it's a sales opportunity for the host.

Whoever wants to organise it should check with the factory that they are OK with the work standards of the host, though. There were - and probably still are - some workshops out there who don't really understand the car fully.

Is there any mileage in having another of these 'getting to know your animal' days? Must have quite a few new faces since 2006

Probably not at Vegantune but yes good idea.

The white race car in the pictures is now my car as far as I know.

I took a few short video clips but with the rain they're not up to much. I'll post them here if someone tells me how.

Scottsman,

Did I see you taking photos whilst a passenger in Bruces Atom on the A1?

Fantastic day out.  Learned a bit and always good to meet everyone.

(actually JL my car is in your photo in front of Richard's Rover)

The fisc stuff seems to have really helped the car, today I was able to start it and let it idle without having to hold the throttle down for 30 secs, which I usually have to.  Guess it will take some time to fully work its magic but seems good so far.

Next job is to replace my dizzy, plugs and leads then find somewhere local to re-map the ECU as it was running rather rich, should help fuel economy a bit

Ben

P.S. thanks to Bruce for organising and Richard for hosting

WOW, what a lovely Atom the white one is ;D ;D ;D

the day was a success?

i tried to pop in to put some names to faces and say hi, but didn't make it. probably best really, as i might have caught people pissing in the tank, nicking bits off it (have i now got 2" harnesses?) etc. ignorance is bliss ;)

did you see the lovely black Mallock in the workshop?
the slightly bent one..well thats one of the beasts i'm racing this year, can't wait for it to be looking like new again and on track!

I think, if you include John Hayman's Atom, there were 10.

Thoroughly enjoyed the day and so good to meet other Atom owners.

Had a great drive there in the sunshine. I guess the laack of a speedo helped me get there an hour early!! 180 + miles in about 2 hours - yikes! The drive back was more of a washout! It rained continually but again, it was fun.

I learned some interesting basics. Odd how there's differing opinions on such things as 'cooking brake fluid' on track days etc etc.

I wonder if Ben noticed any diference in his Atom following the FISC treatment?

Just need to find out from Richard (Vegantune) what engine oil flushing fluid he recommends.
