It's always been on for this site. The behavior with this site is new. If I turn compatibility view off, I get an error that IE8 detects a problem with the site and it forces compatibility view back on. In no case does the site render properly with IE8 now, though it did a while ago. Perhaps the latest round of Windows updates broke it (I'm on Windows 7).
