Stu,
What reduction in top speed were you seeing? Or was it mitigated by the higher cornering speeds possible?
It's difficult to say Pete but it was significant for me.
I did a few days last year when the temperature was 30 degrees in the UK and I was struggling to get the car over 135mph on a few different circuits.
On a cool day at Bedford I saw 150mph. I ran against a mate with the same car but without wings and he was seeing the same speed as me, so the wings weren't causing too much drag.
To be fair to Ariel though, the wings are a massive step forwards from the old ones and on a cooler day the car would definitely be quicker over a lap with them on. Also, the confidence from the extra grip means that you can take more liberties with the throttle mid corner which brings a lot more lap time than the straight line speed issue.
I do thing that they look amazing though and I'm still dicking around deciding whether to put them on the car again.
Cheers,
Stu
